ok.....This is really embarrassing for us to admit, but it's soooo darn funny we can't help but to let everyone know......Remember Rosie's baby(Gracie) that we had a heck of a time getting to breathe and had to give it CPR...Well in all the confusion with that and our other mare Daisy in labor we didn't check the sex very well....Actually neither one of us can remember checking at all....Somehow in the confusion we thought it was a filly....but in actuality it's a stud colt...... Oh my goodness!!!!! We turned the mares and babies out a couple days after they foaled and when I went out to check the mares for foal heat.....I saw something dangling underneath Gracie....At first I thought it was an infected navel and when I got a closer look....It was a male reproductive organ!!!!!! <---------(this is the best name I could think of for all our viewers)....HOW embarrassing!!!!!!! Well after laughing and trying to figure out what to tell the kids and people at Mare Stare we decided to offer him for sale......Here's the deal!!!! He will be for sale for $900 and $200 will be donated to Mare Stare!!!!!!! We are truly sorry for the mix up and we're sure you all will understand with all the things that happened we made an honest mistake.... We understand it wasn't very professional and we apologize....Hope you all understand!!!! BTW her colt is gonna be Grey with a black mane and tail.....(we think....hahaha) So with that said....first to send a $200 deposit for Rosie's colt gets him after he's weaned in June!!!!! Also we won't list him for sale on any other boards to give the people who watch him being born the first opportunity to buy him....Thank you all for your support! Doug & Jenny Davis Star D Ranch

YOU are WONDERFUL people!! you didn't have to say a word about your little confusion and you did anyways . At least you can laugh about it, and gave me a little comic relief on this Monday. Don't feel bad, I know of someone who put iodine on a "male reproductive organ" because she thought it was the umbilical cord...poor guy Hey, we all have our "moments". New name??? Take care and God bless!! Sharon

Doug I'm so glad you let the cat out of the bag. I've had a hard time not telling anyone and I've giggled and giggled over it. It just shows that you're human - and wonderful humans at that!
We love ya no matter what! And little Gracen is loved too - even with his extra parts.
Sharon - the story about your friend dipping the...um...navel....is hilarious too - hope it did no harm.
I love Mare Stare and the family here - this is too much fun.

OMG Doug and Jenny, that was a great story, I really needed a good laugh today, and that was the perfect story. Goes to show that even the best people can make mistakes, you guys have nothing to be either ashamed of of apologize for. He's here, healthy and alive and that's what is important. Thank you so much for your generous offer to MareStare, hes going to be one very handsome stud boy!!! Hugs......

With all the trouble with his birth I'm surprised that you even knew your name. That had me so scared I could verily breathe. Y'all did wonderful with keeping him alive and he is very beautiful. Whoever gets him will get a bargin...

I had a friend that looked at her foal after it was born and called all her friends and family to tell them that is was a girl. She had to call everyone back to tell them it was a boy. I wanted my first foal to be a girl so bad that I refused to believe it was a boy for two days.
