For the past 3 days about every 30 minutes I keep losing all of my cams. First one will pop up the error box "media server cannot respond" and then like a domino effect they all immediately do that. I've rebooted my computer and it hasn't helped and I actually don't have open as many cams as I usually do. Anyone else having this same problem or know of how to reasolve it? It's not that I don't mind having to close out those boxes and then refresh the cams it's just that it's kind of a pain. I have a computer in my bedroom and am able to watch all of my cams from bed at night and am getting up non-stop...I'm afraid I'll miss something happening if I don't restart the cams. lol

There are 3 common messages that occur when a camera connection is lost. Which one(s) are you getting?
"Media Server cannot connect to camera/Live Source server."
"Media Server has dropped connection."
"Media Server doesn't respond."
The first two mean that the camera is not connected. The connection could be going up and down or have other issues. Which message you get depends on whether the camera connection goes down before or after you connect to our server.
The last message means that the server is not responding to your request for connection. This could be because our server is down (I usually post in Foaling Alerts and Server Status when they are or are going to be) or because there are internet issues between your computer and our servers.

I'm sorry I had it wrong. It is definitely the"Media Server has dropped connection." because it just happened again. Now though instead of every half hour it's doing it ever hour. It has to be something with the servers because every single cam spontaneously goes down at the same time. I know the other night you were working on one particular serve which is how I was able to still watch one Elements and one Strohbehn cam while it's mate cam when down, must be on the other server. So you think it is the server and not my computer? I've been watching the same cams for months now and never had problems before with them. I'm just worried about my computer is all. Thank you.

Which cams are you watching that this happens to?

Get ready for a list. LOL But I usually have no problems with them:
Elements 1 and 2 J and A Farms 2 L and L Ranch Silver Creek Strohbehn 1 and 2 SML Horses Rockin B Showdown Glen Hill (when it's on) Brookhaven Gypsy Meadows
I've even shut down most of the cams and only had 6 open. And I still have the same problem so I just figure I may as well keep all of them up.
I've just now rebooted again and will let you know how long it is until I lose them all. Right now they are all running perfectly fine. And when 1 goes it's like a domino effect where they all fall after.

Actually it all started right when Chrissy Belcher turned off her cam. Okay I know that isn't it but it is a funny coincidence especially since I never turned off her cam for 3 months. lol

The cams you are watching are distributed over four different servers on three different hosting companies. If they are ALL going down at once, there has to be an issue with your computer or your internet connection.

Oh shoot you think so? It just happened now after an hour of being online. And it is definitely the "media server dropped connection" one. I haven't been kicked off though from my other non-Mare Stare Internet Explorers windows I have open. So does that mean it it more my computer and not my ISP? Uh oh now I'm incredibly nervous.

Laurie has been watching 4 of the cams you were watching all evening, and she didn't get kicked off of any of them. Are you watching any of the "other" foalcams? Your internet connection seems pretty solid right now. Also, why are you watching Gypsy Meadows twice?

LOL becuase I forgot I already had the window open and minimized when I clicked on the link in the Alert Window. LOL Well I shut down a few of the cams. And I even played around with the Network connections in my Network wizard and rebooted the cable modem and reset the router. So hopefully this will all resolve, if not I guess I'll be calling Dell tomorrow. LOL after I posted the list about an hour later I pulled up the Rushwind cam which isn't a MS cam. I've got my fingers crossed all the monkeying around I have done will fix it. Thank you very much. I'm sorry I bothered you with my crisis. I had never had it happen before so I thought maybe others were having the same problem. I guess my computer is just a freak of nature. LOL

How is your cable modem connected to your router? Is it an ethernet cable or a USB cable?
