I had also forgot about Misty. Margaurite Henry (or however you spell it) is one of my favorite authors.

how about horse whisperer...........That movie was a real tear jerker I am crying now that I loaned it out and never got it back....................LOL so glad you named this movie it is aswell my fav movie ! i went to buy it today and can you believe i have to get it offline wal-mart dont have it in the store!! its my fav, then Dreamer, then Black Beauty then seabusicut, then Flicka, then 8 secounds... haha How about Cowboy Up anyone seen it Btw I LOVE Hidalgo i am Half Cherokee so yeah its awsome and I love the Mustang horse and i think the movie goes to show it doesnt matter what the breed of a horse is but the most important thing is that a horse and rider are bonded there is a mutual trust, I dont think it matters if the horse in the movie is sometimes a mare sometimes a gleding , In the book Horse Whisper the Horse is a Morgan.. and seabusict was also played by diffrent horses so i think its the moral of the movie that makes it great

The main horse for all the close ups in Hildalgo was a APHA stallion who was purchased by the main character (sorry not exactly sure how to spell his name and don't want to butcher it LOL). He lives somewhere in the vincinity of north Idaho (where I am at) and he also bought the friesian he rode in Lord of the Rings (or so we read in a special article done up here).

Yeah, its funny because the horse in The Horse Whisperer, Pilgrim is the same horse who played Ginger in Black Beauty, and Black Beauty (AQHA Doc's Keepin Time) is the horse who played Gulliver. If you watch real close, in Black Beauty, when he is a foal, you can clearly see that the foal is female. Im wondering who Dreamer was played by. Anyone know?

I think I saw a little bit of the Horse Whisperer. I saw the part where the horse got mangled by that semi. It was pretty bad. Hildalgo was pretty gorey to me. I'm not knocking it though. I like Spirit Stallion of the Cimmaron, it kinda brings a tear to your eye.

I love The Horse Whisperer but I can't watch the first 10 minutes. So everytime I see it's coming on I always tune in late so I miss the sad scene where the girl and her horse are slammed into by the semi and also the scene where we see Pilgrim under the little bridge and he is bleeding so badly and ripped open.

Yeah, that's the only part I've seen. I haven't watched the entire movie before.

I agree that the first 1/2 hour of horse whisperer is so hard to watch But it is really a great story, I think so anyway Same with Dreamer, the scene when she gets hurt is really tough to see.
