You know how sometimes us human moms have to have stitches do the mares ever needs to have them after delivering?? Some of these babies are really big. Hope its not a stupid question.

Nope - not a stupid question at all....yes, mares sometimes have to have stitches after delivering a large baby - or a badly positioned foal.
I'm actually shocked that Cocoa didn't tear - between the size of the foal and the vet having both (yes both) arms in her....all she had was alot of swelling.

The same is true with Heiress. I was really surprised that she didn't tear with how badly her foal was positioned, his size and the fact she had two large men reaching inside to remove the foal. She, too, was badly swollen by had no tearing.
