After weeks of worry and dealing with severe edema....my mare finally foaled. She had a beautiful silver-gruella filly at 1pm to-day. The baby stands about 3 ft high and it was very interesting to watch her try to get those long legs to work...LOL.
Mom and baby are fine.

Hooray - always like to hear about an easy foaling - especially since there were concerns prior to it. Now, where are the photos?  |

I will post photos tomorrow. Mom and baby are doing great. It took her a long time to clean but with a little help she got it done.
The baby is a silver-greullo....and she is 40inches tall and has beautiful long legs and huge shoulders. She will look amazing in the jumper or dressage ring...LOL.

Here's a question I've always wondered about - is it grullo for males and grulla for females? Of course you can't always count on Breyer to be right about such things, but they refer to one of the models as a grullo AQHA and Ginger is definitely a mare...

Thank you Sharon for posting the pics. The baby is doing great she has started nibbling at moms grain and is drinking water and eating hay.
Her name is ISIS and she was 40 inches tall when she was born. She has grown 1 inch in 5days....gonna be a TALL girl.
She has amazing balance and movement already so she will definately be heading for the dressage ring.
