My mare has a huge udder, and everything else is pointing to her foaling sometime soon.... right now all I get from her udder is clear fluid. When does it change from clear to milky?? Thanks, Kim

There can be a lot of difference in when a mares milk changes. Some will gradually cloud up over several days and others mares milk can turn white an hour before foaling . I have had mares drip white milk for days before foaling and some get milk during! Most of mine seem to start to get cloudy milk a a day or two before foaling usually turning to white milk around 24 hours before foaling. Sorry I cant give you a more definite answer Mares are all so different

Thanks, Kim Kim, Maggie's was clear,( not even that sticky like it was last month,) until 3-4 hours before she delivered. Did I tell you that I found out that her due date was a month ago!!! That's why she was sooo hugh.
