Could you more experience miniature horse people give me an educated guess of how far along you think Lucy might be? She was part of a group of mares loose in a paddock with 5 stallions. Lucy left the paddock some time in July, we're told.

Hello, I have never raised mini horses... and I'm not an expert on mini horses... But I did find this foaling calculator on a mini site and thought it may help you... You didn't state when Lucy began running with the stallions Here is the web-site: www.shenandoahmini.com/foalingcalculator.html

Unfortunately we don't know when but the assumption is that she'd been with them since winter.

There's no way of knowing that I'm aware of, if you don't have breeding dates or an ultrasound to go by. Assuming she was not cycling in winter, she probably could have gotten in foal anywhere from late February to mid July. You'll probably just have to go by her physical changes and udder development. She's on the outside cam now and hard to see, but looks more pregnant than a mare that got in foal in July. Sorry couldn't be more help.
