A Newbie

Hi i have been a member for about a week now and would like to say what a wonderful idea this site is. I found the site by accident while looking for info about foaling (we have our first foal due 22nd of this month) I have now watched 5 live births and feel a lot more confident about our foaling.
It has amazed me the trouble owners go to to keep us in the picture during foaling. ( a big thank you to the cam ops) I have now invited a few british friends to also come join in the excitement and fun.

I am so glad that you found our site Jan. What you are doing is exactly the same thing that my daughter and I did when we started. We had our first mini and she was expecting and we didn't have a clue. She also had a redbag, but because of what we had learned by watching foalings online, we were able to save the foal. That foal happens to be the same one that just had colic surgery last week.

Please don't be afraid to ask questions. You will only get good responses here and alot of information. We'd also love to continue to learn by hearing about your mare and your foaling experience.

Hi Jan!!
I was in the same boat as you ~ with our first mare and baby due, I didn't know what we were in for or how to handle it; but thanks to the marestare family and cams I learned soooooooo much and our Buttercup delivered her foal (a colt named Trigger) Sunday night.
I know we wouldn't have been so calm and prepared if it wasn't for finding this site.

Hi Jan...First, you need to have your pictures on an online photo sharing site ( I prefer www.photobucket.com ) then you can copy the URL and paste it onto the message board.
I hope I explained it right, computer smart I am not! I bought the book Computers For Dummies.......it was to advanced for me!! ROFL!!

I can say I have Seen alot of foals being born as a teen but never had to do one by myself now that I am expecting one any day now I feel quite confident and refreshed from watching Mare online foal!
