Ok I tested my mare and I got One full red square ASP then Two square more out line? What does that mean. Has anyone else had this .

I tried the test strips for water testing and I didn't like them. I started using the system from Chemetrics called FoalWatch. They are far more accurate, they cost more but there was less second guessing.

By reading the test strips it means she's getting close, but that she "probably" won't foal tonight. That's no guarantee unfortunately. It's just a guideline. Angie has had a mare foal at one square. I've never had any foal (that gave enough milk to test) until they were a full five squares.
You should also notice that her milk will get really, really sticky when foaling is imminent. Some people even taste it and if it's sweet, it's time.
Keep a chart and keep track of her progress in case you breed her again next year.

Thanks Guys. Her Nipples last night Grew so they are sticking out side ways SHe has tons of edema and is Loose Loose in the hinnie. So What I was thinking was maybe her milk was in the process of changing when I tested it. I will test her tonight and see.

We had a mare that tons of edema for a month before she gave birth as a matter of fact it was strange for her that I had the vet out twice to check her. We would not leave home without some her to watch her. She finally had it without me. I watched her and two hours after I check her, she had that baby.
