Our old mare is a rescue hors not from slaughter but just from some people who didn't care. When we got her a year ago she was nothing but bones and had rain rot real bad. She has no back teeth so was not able to thrive on the rough pasture she was in. There was not much there for a young horse to norish on. She has spent the last year on mare and foal,senior didn't work well on her, mixed with pelleted alfalfa and corn oil made into a warm mash. She looks beautiful today and is such a lovey thing. Estimated age late twenties.
