My vet told me when my mare foaled last year..."Wait until you think she is comfortable, but at least 6 weeks" He also had some comments about how we humans feel after we deliver and said, "Try to put yourself in her position"
I think 6 weeks is about right if no complications. I kinda watch my girls and go from their countenance, and how they seem to be recovering.
