Okay so i dont know if anyone is interested in the Kentucky Derby but i am pretty big into TB's and i love to watch the quest for the triple crown...
So i was just wondering if you guys had any favorites for the race? Maybe we could get a fantasy handicapping going on? I think it would be soo fun!
Well so far my favorite is SweetNorthernDancer.. I really like the way he runs, his disposition and his background... not to mention his jockey has a lot of experience..

I haven't read up on the horses yet but usually do at the last minute. I'm not a HUGE fan of horse racing but I was fortunate enough to attend the Kentucky Derby twice and it was quite and experience so I always watch.
I'll read up and let you know my fave.

I go in and out of keeping up with horseracing.
I usually will watch TVG The Works the week before any big races. I also like to watch the Quarters because I enjoy QH, Arabian, Appaloosa, and Paint horse racing too.
My folks live in Sparks, NV which is right next to Reno, and, since I can't bet here in Georgia they will be putting some money on my selection for me. Not sure who that will be just yet. I sure with Stevie Wonderboy was running.

Well I live 20 miles from Church Hill Downs but have ever been to the Derby. Can you believe that?I plan on going one of these days. I haven't kept up with the names this year but I did have one pick for my fav. Jazil because my dogs name is Jazzi LOL. But now I will have to agree with KHADON and go with Lawyer Ron also. That is my husbands name and he passed away 2 yrs ago. Sorry Khadon didn't meen to still your picks but maybe we will win the big purse on these two LOL I WISH.

I hope nobody considers this spam, but some of you might be interested in knowing that ReRun, the organization that finds homes for unlucky TBs, is auctioning off a group of Moneighs (get it?) on Ebay this week, to tribute the Kentucky Derby. Moneighs are paintings that are actually created by famous (and not-so-famous) racehorses, and this group includes paintings by Smarty Jones, Funny Cide, John Henry, Cigar, and 6 others. No kidding! If you've never seen a Moneigh or heard about this zany idea, you might want to check it out. Just go to Ebay and search for Moneigh.

Rerun is a great organization... I have rescued seven TBs off the track to date... one of which is my absolute baby... He is a grandson of Alydar.... I just love him.. I am definately going to go check that out! Thanks!

I'm a small-time TB rescuer (2 mares) and a big-time TB addict. (Add Sinister Minister, Brother Derek, and Bob and John to the list Triple Crown prospects this year. I like almost the whole field. It's a banner year. Really, I'm just rooting for a safe race.) I also own a Smarty Jones Moneigh!! So I can attest not only to the virtues of ReRun as a terrific organization, but also to the first-rate quality of the paintings. ReRun also sent me snapshots of Smarty making the painting, and the folks there were a joy to work with.

I am a big fan of SweetNorthernSaint.... i know he is being overlooked but i love his race plan, his back half potential, and the length of his stride.... But who knows this year's crop of three year olds is almost unbelieveable, even the ones that didnt make it in.... (SunRiver). The Baffert horses are always great.. So is Shereffs horse... We will see!

My Pick: Sweet Northern Saint. Odds not great for him, so far, but I like him. Gonna go place my bet in a few minutes!
