I went to the barn yesterday. ( i was going to a show and showin other peoples horses) Summers eye was better but not much better. I am hoping that the swelling will go down by tuesday because that is when the vet is coming. If the swelling goes down hopefully the vet will say that she is healing nicely. If it doesn't i am afraid the vet is going to tell us bad news instead of good news.
So please send prayers that the vet gives good news on Tuesday

Nikki the eye problems take TIME to heal, there are alot of things the vet can do..so keep the positive thoughts and yes a fly mask on her at all times is a good idea. I've had a few horses that we had to deal with eye problems. and all were fine. Treatment can be long. so the Key is Patience. Prayers for your mare to heal with no problems.

Wendi- I am trying to be patent. But you see she is 12 years old and this is the first major health problem she has had. So its nerve racking for me
Update- Talked to the owner of the barn last night. Summers eye is getting a little bit better but not much. The vet is coming today at 7:30 pm. So until then i will be going nuts worrying about what she is going to say

The vet came at 11 pm last night. Unfourtuntly i was not there for the appointment. But the lady that owns the barn was there. The vet says that her eye looks like it getting better. She did do another eye scraping. Hopefully that was the last time Summers eye has to get scraped. Will another update either tomorrow or friday

Sorry i know its been a while since i updated. The vet came on Saturday afternoon and said that Summers eye is getting better. The vet did however scrape her eye again. But this time she cut back on tranquilizer. (which i am very happy about) She also drew some of Summer's blood and had a serum made out of it, which will hopefully allow it to heal better. Then the vet came again last night. She did have to scrape her eye again. She also cut back on the tranquilzer again. Unfourtunatly my horse had to little of the tranquilizer so she kept moving around. That means next time the vet comes she will have to give her more Tranquilizer. The vet said though that Summer's eye is healing really well and the serum is helping alot. So so far so good
