This is my colt Flip's Golden Rajah an American Appendix Horse. He turned 2 years old on April 14, 2006. He has allot more growing to do, so I am taking it slow with his training. He is such a sweetie, I just love him This is probably the last horse I will ever own & ride! The upside down bucket is my version of a movable mounting block Recognize my shirt!?!?! ;D

I for sure need a nice quiet mount to ride, my days of equine excitement are over. Even though he is genetically 3/4 Thoroughbred, THANK GOODNESS he takes after his Appendix Quarter Horse Dam, Sassy Sharee I have ridden his full sister, and I am hoping that Rajah is as smooth as she is. ;D

HEY!!! DID ANYONE NOTICE THE SHIRT SHE"S WEARING??? I think she needs to be a model. Okay - I know the picture is about the horse, but I was excited to see the shirt! Now - back to the horse...beautiful horse and he does look so unconcerned about being ridden. Gotta love a horse like that! I hope his training continues to progress as nicely as it seems to have started.

Well today I finally got to work Rajah again. He got lucky and got 2 days off because of other comitments. I retreved my 'ol beat-up training saddle from a freind that hed borrowed it. Put it on him in the barn, snugged up the girth, then went to the round pen and worked him with it on. He acted like he done it all him life! Okay, on with the lesson, ground driving etc. He did fine.
Then I got out the bareback pad, tossed the driving reins, got my dressage whip & hopped on. I went over everything we did two days ago. Ahhhh, he did pretty good, need allot more turning & brending work. Stopped great though! So I am feeling like Rajah is so calm & willing, I will push the envelope, so I ask him for the trot! He actually popped right into it!. And Man what a fantactic trot; long reaching, forward, lots of suspention & balance. ;D Definatly not a bearback trot I can hardly wait untill tomorrow. I am going to chance it and put my good saddle on him, and ride him under saddle ;D
I have trained allot of young horses before, and never loose the thrill of how wonderful these horses are, and how hard they try to please me! Mostly I am so excited about this particular horse because, this isn't a clients horse, or another one that I am going to eventually sell to someone. This one, this Rajah, he is MINE!
