My friend has just rescued these 2 horses, if there is anybody who lives near enough to maybe donate some hay, feed anything she would be most greatful. She lives in Pike County, Bowling Green, Mo. 63334 please email her lil_bouncin_tigger@yahoo.com The vet has been to these horses every other day for a week and the farrier twice, bills are mounting so any little help would be wonderful. Many thanks

I commend your friend for taking on such an tremendous and heart felt burden. It truly hurts me to the core to see the pour condition of those horses I still do not understand how a human being could allow anything so horrible to happen like that. Reminds me of the concentration camp prisoners
Unfortunately I too do not live anywhere near enough to help with supplies. Why doesn't your friend look for help with in her/his community? Like a sponsor or two per animal, like a local non-profit club. I remember our saddle club donating to things like that.
Lots of luck getting those two back into decent condition. It will defiantly be a long and $$$$$ road

Wow. It sure looks like that paint's bones have already rotated in that one foot, and should be out the sole any time now. Probably kindest to put that one down, if that is the case. Spend the $ and time on the one that can be saved. What a crying shame.

Hello everyone. I am the person who took these 2 horses on. We live in a very small town in Pike county, Mo. Resources are hard to come by. This is my first rescue. I have already been told on other forums like this that I should just turn them over to a rescue org., have them put down and all other opinions one may have. Trueth is, when I first met these 2 horses, I had actually went to help burry a herd mate that didn't make it. It was something that up until now I had only seen on animal planet. Nothing could prepare me for what I saw and smelled that day. These are the only 2 survivers out of a herd of about 6. These people were turned into the humane society of missouri and it is being investigated. The mare we went to burry that day had been dead for a week because we couldn't burry her until the investigators were done and gave us the ok to put her to rest. After that, the 2 women that had taken them over were trying but had no place to take them, so they were still living in these barn stalls that were covered in god only knows how much crap. These stalls had not been cleaned in a good 8 months to a year. They had not seen day lite in probably that long either. That day, I promised god and them that no matter what, no matter how, I would get them out of this mess. after 2 weeks of taking hay in the trunk of my car about every other day to help feed them, we finally got them here. They are so much happier. They have free access to the outside and lots of love and attention. Our vet has been advising us on what to do and how to do it. We brought them home on tuesday evening and just wednesday they broke threw the corral and was kicking up there feet and running. they were enjoying life. So I let them for a little while, after all I had a fence to mend, lol. The gelding, Aristotle, has been beaten with a whip across his back and left marks, he has also been cracked over the head with a big mag flash lite several times. Even after all this in his 3 yrs, he still trusts in humans to help him. He will lay his head on your shoulder and just suck up the love he has been starving for. As for the mare, Cinnomon, yes she is bad shape. She has had a broken leg in the past that was not vet attended. She has been starved and beaten and her hooves look horrible. But she is not in pain right now. Ridable? Probably never! She is a surviver and has the will to stay alive obviously. She is Aristotles best friend. They have been threw hell together and as far as I'm concerned they will stay together for as long as I can keep them together. If she goes down hill and our vet says no hope for her, she's suffering, then so be it! God has made his decision and I will have her put down. Until then I think they are both worth saving. Our vet has set up a fund for the 2 of them to help with any vet related bills. They can be sent to Split Rail Animal Clinic, 15090 Pike 313, Bowling Green, Mo. 63334 . His name is Lonnie Shepard and His phone # is (573) 324-5216 Just tell him it is for the rescue horses under Joe Shade/ Shelly Rios

KUDO's To You Stormy's Mom....I do standardbred adoption and rescue...and It is NEVER easy...The fact that YOU Care and LOVE these horses is what will Make them LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!! and let me state"YOU are MORE Then LEGIT" The key to that is YOU are NOT asking for donations to you Personally They go to the VET Caring for your Kidzs" You can also take donations if you want with a Feed store. I'm sure the horses need special feed and supplements and people could help in that way! It's a LONG road and we never know where it may take us. But YOU are giving Blood.sweat and tears for these abused Kidzs and Do NOT ever let what people say GET to YOU...... I send You (HUGS))) and Love and Prayers that The 2 will live a Long Life WITH YOU...They could NOT find a BETTER home!

Thanks Wendi!! You put tears of joy in my eyes. I went to our local feeders grain store to see about setting up something like that but they won't do it because they don't want to be responsable for the money, but they said if someone wanted to purchase feed for them, that would be fine and they would call us to pick it up as it's paid for. I don't have all of their info yet. I can handle the feed for the most part. Right now hay is a little hard to come by because people are running low and the first cut hasn't been brought in. They are on a hay diet only right now and already showing signs of being better. We brushed on them for 2 days and finally got them looking good. They loved every second of it! Today when I finally finished them, I couldn't get out of the fence! LOL they followed and corraled me! Just to give me huges! Little things like that make what ever it takes worth every cent it takes!! I took more pictures but not to sure how to post them on here!

Goof morning StormysmomIt's truly amazing WHAT """LOVE""" can do with the abused horses...You'd think they'd hate humans BUT they sense we're there to help, which your proving now. Like I said you are doing so Much for these Horses that anyone who says or thinks different Just needs to come vist you and SEE what REALLY is happening...a message board can never show The depth of caring. YOU do what YOUR doing and the KIDZS will be around a long time.... I'm in Ca and our hay is $$$ and NOT the best:( so I know what you mean about Hay..It's frustrating!!!!I try and get hay when it's descent But with 8 horses and a Baby here it sure Goes fast!!! Go Give BIG HUGS to those"""KIDZS""" of yours Hang in there... and GO with YOUR gut and your Vets advise and you and the KIDZS will DO fine!!!!!! ((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))) and LOVE nd again KUDO;'s for all YOU do!!!!!!
