Hi Ashleigh!! Although I havent bred horses myself..not yet anyway...lots of breeders will breed the mare on her foal heat, others prefer to wait for the next heat, and still others prefer to time the breeding so that the foal is born at certain times in the year. As for how many times a horse can be bred is all dependent on how the mare is doing...I've read where some horses have been bred up to 15 times, and others only once. I guess it would be a personal preference and dependent on how sound/healthy the mare is. Are y'all thinking of breeding Buttercup again?!?!
