Can anyone help me with researching Johnston's Gold Boy, which is my 2 yr old AMHA stallion's grandsire? I do appreciate it. My email is shalibiz5@yahoo.com if anyone can help me. THanks again. And congrats to all that has new wonderful babies.

I know about some shoeing you can do, also there is a boot of some sort. Let me call my friend amd get back to you later. She has a mare that had this same thing, only she was a full size horse. So she was really hard to treat.

asmithdq-Thanks any advice right now I will take on this. Kevin my husband is a farrier but he is stumped on this one. ediee--Thanks for your comments and everyone else as well. And no he does not act like it hurts him one bit but it still makes me wonder. It hurts me to watch him. But when he runs, he gets up on it right. Weird huh. I think so.

oh and BTW I did not get an updated pic but he has gotten darker. He looks more like a golden palomino now instead of a champagne palo. IT is like he is getting a sun tan LOL!!

April, I don't think Midas is a champagne. I would say he's a cremello. Champagnes have pink skin all over at birth. This darkens some as they get older but it's not black. They have blue eyes at birth but their eyes turn amber and they have mottled skin. (freckles) I don't see any of these traits in Midas. There's a web site about champagne horses and there's also another one about horse colors. Check these out.

I agree with you. He is turning more golden now. And get this the sun is doing it to him. But here are those pics I told you about. What do you think he is after seeing these twnpnds? I just wished I knew for sure what he is so I can call him that color. His papers say palomino.
