First show of the season

Yes, we're a little slack...got a slow start, but there aren't many shows around here. Our trainer has been showing some of our horses at all the local shows, but Shannon and I decided to get our feet wet and jump in.

So, we pulled two fillies straight from the field - yep - no conditioning, and we packed them up last minute and headed to Perry, Georgia. We knew we'd be showing at Fletcher in July, so we thought we'd go ahead and have a dry run to see how we did and what we needed.

This was my filly, Precious. She didn't do very well in color (three 3rds in a class of three), but we hadn't bathed her enough, white wasn't white, etc. She got one 1st and two 2nds in amateur and two 5th and a 6th in yearling filly.


Shannon did better in solid color with a 2nd, 3rd and 4th. But she blew us all away with her Reserve Champion in yearling filly. This filly is 29" tall and was also the Eastern Champion Mare & foal for 2004, so she's been showing since she was born.


We're very tickled with our placings, especially considering that we didn't work with them at all. We were told that they both need weight !?!?! And then it was explained that they need muscle, so Shannon has started working them and we'll see what Fletcher brings. It was fun!!!

I was there ;D and I will tell all of you Heather and Shannon and both the girls done wonderful They were just beautiful... I was jumping with joy for Shannon and Dancer when they won the Reserve Grand ;D ;D ;D I don't who was more excited Shannon or I Thanks guys for letting me tag along and enjoy the wins with you.

I wish I had been there to see Hope running around in the arena during the break! I bet she was a hoot!!

I really enjoyed meeting the two of you and seeing you show your horses!! I especially loved Raven in the Liberty class. And meeting and loving on Hope was very special to me. ;D Thanks for a great weekend!!
