KARMA? WHat is it?

Hi was just looking and under our location and stuff there has been added Karma.. and some people have exalt and smite...

what does this all mean?

Karma is kind of like reputation. If you like what someone has posted, you can 'exalt' them. If not, you can 'smite' them. This is on a trial basis, and if it gets out of hand and misused it will be turned back off. It is meant to be seriously used, so please do not play around with it! Choose wisely!

Well, go ahead and smite me now, because imo such a system is just going to lead to unpleasantness of the catty type that ruins most boards. People can like something or not, and if they don't like it, they can trouble themself to compose a rebuttal. The convenient "smite" just encourages irrational nastiness "I don't like it/you" without having to reason out a reply and contribute to discussion.

No problem - we'll shut it back off. I turned it on just as a trial, but I want no problems. I felt the same way at first Erika, but there are so many fun people here that I thought it would be enjoyed instead of misused.

Since it's not a necessity - it's gone. Trial over.

ahhh thats to bad that the exalt/smite buttons were turned off...but if you think it will make the board a better place not to have it, than I believe it is best but we did have fun with it while it was there...with no bad outcomes, we had fun trying to figure it out thanks for making the board such a wonderful place to come to
