We have had two training lessons this week with him. Dad tried desentizing him the the rope(from Clinton Anderson's method)... he really didn't care. So I guess that means he's going to not be a shy horse. I worked with him and a saddle blanket, flopping it around him, letting him smell of it, and flopping it onto his neck, back and hindquarters. He really doesn't seem to care for any of it. I guess he's so good about it because he was hand raised and isn't scared of anything. Dad got him to stand at the end of the rope and come when called(I told him that he isn't a dog LMAO)... but he is pretty good at it anyways. We'll probably be lunging him next to see what happens. That means I'm going to have to find the 20 ft. lead rope . I think he is going to be a great horse in the future. OH, I forgot to tell you that he let me lay all of my weight on his back ( I was leaned over his back with my feet off the ground). I did it on both sides and he never moved once... Good baby! He's a sweety and I believe he'll be a piece of cake to train... just like Mystery! He'll be saddle broke by fall!

Sounds like you have really spent allot of time with him He should give you no problems during training. If you have the horses love & trust, then you are 99% there in your training.
I start horses & ponies professionally. My husband gave me the title of Equine Professional. If you need any help or advise, do not hesitate to ask me. I really love what I do, and love to see horse & owner have a good re-pore ;D
I was wondering how old Rusty is? In my opinion it is important to not stress a 2 year olds joints too much, as there is still allot of growing to do. Just a friendly note for you ;D what you do is completely your business.
Good Luck with all your training with your baby Rusty!

He's a yearling... and we are just doing light ground work right now. I didn't want to do anything yet that is going to stress his joints. We are getting him to flex his neck and stuff like that. Thanks for the offer. I'll be sure to keep you in mind for future references. And Yes, we have definitely spent a lot of time with him, because we bottle raised him (more like bucket raised) and he loves ON us *i.e. rest his head on our shoulders, puts his nose in our hair and takes in a deep breath. Thanks again for the offer!
