It was terribly scary. The downburst had tornadic winds and blew down a huge almost half of a tree down in the horse lot. THANKFULLY the horses were in the field. The odd thing about it was, it only happened here at my house. Two seconds down the road it barely sprinkled. It absolutely poured and the ground actually got soaked. I went up to the field to check on the horses to see if they were okay, and they were, but it looked as if they had went through a touchless car wash. They definitely got their baths for the month... LOL ! I also went to check on the kittens and they were warm and dry in their little den underneath limbs. But when the downburst was just beginning to start, the rain was blowing vertically onto the porch from the southwest, which is very odd. Then the wind picked up and we heard a tree cracking and couldn't see where. By now I was freaking out and was getting the chills... I told Troy(my 18 yr old brother) to go to the bathroom, because limbs were falling out of the big tulip poplar by our house. I was very scared that this was going to be a tornado(that's like my biggest fear). I called Dad while it was going on, and called mom after it had ended. Of course she was worried for us, but nothing else happened after that, just a few cracks of thunder. Dad's garden is shot. The corn is blown over and squash is all twisted up. I'm sure glad it wasn't any worse than it was. And to think the weather never gave a t-storn warning or watch... but just a flood advisory. But like I said before, it only happened where I live and no more than two seconds down the road, didn't get anything... not even wind! Weird tennessee weather I guess! I'll have a pic of the half of a tree in the horse lot.
god bless and everyone have a great 4th tomorrow!
