My little cousins, Kaylee 7yrs, Macy 3yrs, and Libby 1yr, went for a pony ride on Mystery this evening. Of course I was riding and had them sitting between me and the pommel. I didn't realize how much butt room by saddle has LOL ! Kaylee rode first and I had her hang onto the horn and we rode up and down the driveway. Next was Macy. As soon as she got on, she grabbed a hold of the reins... I laughed and told her to hang onto the saddle horn, and she did. Last was Libby. I had to get her situated on the saddle first... she didn't know how to sit on the horse, bless her, she's a cutie. I had to hold her with one arm and steer with the other. My horse neck reined perfectly! I was proud of her for doing such a good job! When Kaylee got on first, she was like "Why is there an extra pair of legs on me?" she turned around and sniffed then just accepted it. After that she was broke to that! After everyone got to ride, Kaylee said "I want to ride again!" and Macy said "I want to ride by myself", but it was time for us to go do our riding. I am sure they will never forget riding their first horse. We rode them down the road all the way to the creek. They went across the bridge really well for a first time. They didn't mind the echo off the water... Good girls! They were afraid of the cattle ! Goofy horses have never seen a cow before. My girls worked hard today, and it was PERFECT weather for riding. About 75degrees and no humidity and a cool breeze! Hope everyone has a good night!

LOL! It's great when the mares just behave themselves! Mines a riot and a half. She'll do something beautifully one day and totally bomb it the next.

my mare is usually in the 'psycho mare' half lol - although she does calm herself down around the little kids. i have to say that putting her on the Moody Mare supplements has done WONDERS!!!!! it's one of the Wendell's Herbs supplements and i highly recommend it for any mare that gets a little bonkers :-p
