We are now the owners of a mini Thats what you get for taking 15yr old daughter to a horse sale. We didnt intend buying anything except maybe a rug or two but ended up buying a 3yr old gelding. He doesnt have any papers so we're not sure if he's a mini horse or mini pony. He has a lovely nature, no biting, no kicking and Emma (my 15yr old daughter) has gone all over him. He is going to be her Agriculture/Horticulture project for her final 2yrs at school. Her school has 14 acres, he gets 2 acres and a stable to himself. She plans to break him to harness and show him. Here's some pics Dont mind the windswept look but its blowing a gale here today and realy cold. What colour would you call him ? I'm used to grey, bay, black and chestnut Oh, and he's 33inches tall.

He is darling! Would it be bay and white? It looks to light to be black, and his nose is brownish...I would say bay, not 100% though. Good luck with him and remember...mini's are addicting He may not be your last!

Your little guy is a silver bay pinto. Has a silver mane and tail. If he was a bay or black/bay he would have a black mane and tail. Another trait of a silver bay is that they have some shade of gray (usually dark) on their legs instead of black. Since your little guy has white stockings you won't see this. The silver gene changes the black but not the red/brown. He will probably look different when clipped. For a good explanation of the silver bay color and some good mini photos showing this color go to www.equinecolor.com/silver.html Your daughter is lucky to be owned by this adorable little cutie. You might try a hardship registry with whatever mini registry you have or with AMHR. Not sure if you can register minis from Australia with AMHR. Any mini people out there know?

Thank you all for the lovely comments on our new boy. We are looking into registering him with the Pinto Horse& Pony Assoc. here. We are not sure if he is a mini pony or mini horse so dont quite know which to try there. Emma says he is being very good at school. He's quite friendly to those that have met him so far and they have all fallen in love with him to. Emma would like some suggestions for names for him for his registration.. His name is Flash so she would like to include that, and her own prefix is Pine Park. We think Em was destined to buy him. The first horse she owned was a clydesdale gelding called FLASH (she sold him to a working farm). Her mare is FLICK, and her TB gelding is FLINT. and no she didn't name any of them. coincidence or ...spooky
