I thought I'd give everyone a general update around Green woods farm.
We have called and confirmed that the horses will be going to stud the 22nd of July... YAY ! So be praying that they will concieve their first visit! This is a very hard and difficult situation, because we don't have a trailer, therefore we have to constantly have to rent one from the local co-op, not cheap! (anyone have a used trailer for sale?)
Anyways, we were up in the field yesterday on the tractor, dad parked it in the middle and the horses ran up to us *except Baylee, who is in heat and is not very social*. Mystery fell in LOVE with the tractor and was trying to bite the tires, then went to the front and kept scratching her nose on the bucket and licking it. We had to shoo her away so we could go back to the house.
Next, we have a new addition to our family. We were given a free registered beagle. She's cute as a button and full of energy. Her name is Penny. Our kittens that are still in the woods in their den are getting big and fluffy, over two weeks old now. They hiss at me and try to spit and they are just too cute. I've got to get some updated pics of them! And a pic of Penny.
My mother has gone to Lewiston, North Carolina and will be gone until the 21st. Blah, I hate that she is an occupational nurse that has to travel often. I have to take care of the horses all by myself while she is gone.
Oh, and today I myself gave Mystery a little training in the round pen. I free lunged her over poles, tarp *still will not walk on it, although I did get her two front feet to step onto it*, and played around with two beach balls. She actually pic up her feet to jump over the poles when I elevated them! She also got to wear the tarp (a little desensitizing). Dad watched me while I was doing this. I still have her trust and respect, and she still loves me, so I did nothing wrong.
Well, I could go on and on, but I'll have to cut it short!
Here are some pics of the kittens about 1 week ago!
