Prayers needed at Goodman & Sons - 9/2 UPDATE

Just got this email from Jennifer at Goodman....

Please keep Mel's Momma PG in your prayers. We found her this afternoon just standing over Mel with her head down. The vets have no idea what is going on with her, she won't eat or drink, and has no interest in Mel at all. Right now we are at a lost what could be wrong. Please keep her and Mel in your prayers, this is the first time Mel has been with out his momma.

PG has pneumonia. I never seen any signs of this, or it would of been taken care of as quick as possible. Right now she is in guarded condition. She did eat a little this afternoon, after her medication started to work. She is drinking on her own now, and has been taken off of fluids for the time being. After they started her on the medicines, she actually started coughing, really hard. She was not coughing or showing any signs of being ill except for her loss of appetite and depression. I am getting updates from them on her regularly through the day. I will let you know as soon as I get them.

Mel is doing okay, he thinks that Lily, my 3 year old breeding stock show mare, has taken over the Momma role for him. I even caught him trying to nurse her.... And she was letting him, maybe to comfort him, I'm not real sure, but Lily has never had a foal even though she acts like it is a second nature to her....she's taking this in stride right now and taking care of the boy for us.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Hopefully Ms PG can get through this and come home soon.
