Just wanted to let everyone know that my mom did well through surgery today. The entire procedure took 7 hours and 42 minutes. It was a painful and agonizing wait in the waiting room. Everytime a doc or nurse came out I prayed it was an update on my mother.
She did well with the anesthesia, which is good considering her past history of allergic reactions. They biopsied the lymph nodes, and they came up .... Drumroll please..... NEGATIVE!!!! Woohoo.
The Mastectomy went well, they removed the entire right breast, and reconstructed both. The plastic surgeon was an absolute perfectionist, he reded the right one two times before he was happy with his work
She woke up in an immense amount of pain. She did have an allergic reaction to the pain meds they gave her, broke out in hives, and couldnt stand not to itch.
She says it feels like Beau and Hollywood are sitting on her chest, and is in an immense amount of pain but is still in good spirits.
Thank you all sooo much for all of your prayers and well wishes! They truly have helped!

Hey!
Another update on my mother...
She is in a ton of pain still. The drain that she has in her from the lymph node removal, was plugged so they had to squeeze the hell out of the breast that was removed and reconstructed in order to no have to go back in for surgery and break up the clot that was plugging the tube.
Today she should get to come home soon! Yay!
Oh yes and EVEN MORE GOOD NEWS!
NO CHEMO and NO RADIATION!
WOOHOO!
