We have a major storm here with gale force winds. The rain hasn't hit yet but it's going to be bad again. We had over 18 inches of rain on Monday and Tuesday but it was snowing in the mountains so the flooding didn't get too bad. The temperatures have warmed up though and all that snow or most of it is supposed to melt. It that's what really happens we're in danger of flooding again so please, more prayers this direction.
On a lighter note, the twins are doing great in the wind. They are nice and calm. Both are now wearing blankets. I did switch the one Surprise was wearing and put it onto Trouble and then the clean one on Surprise. Vee was just fine with both of them. It sure was strange the other day though, she acted like she didn't know him at all, but now she's just fine. I'm glad because I really don't want to wean them yet. And when I do I'll wean them from mom before I try to wean them from each other.

The cam is finally back up. We lost power yesterday early afternoon here. It was an interesting time from there. The horses all took it in stride, us two legged creatures didn't fair so well. The biggest threat was not getting to see the Dancing with the Stars Final Results Show, which threatened to turn one of us into a real grouch! Suffice it to say it wasn't Dave, he went off to play his weekly Texas Holdum tourney with his buddies. But we made it through, none the worse for wear, except our little canvas storage unit that is in shreds. So now we'll clean up and get ready for the next storm that's supposed to hit on Sunday. We've already surpassed our hightest recorded rainfall for Nov and we still have half the month to go. I think we've made up for our drought all in the last two weeks and at this rate it's going to be a long, long winter. And those of you on the east coast, get ready, this is all coming your way...........

Yep Judy we're supposed to get bands of rain all day and a real humdinger overnight. (At least that's the last I heard) Glad to hear your place is fairing well Mikeal. Our place suffered some damage in late july and early aug. lost a whole chunk of our woods to the creek. Shame really they were the best pine trees on the property too. oh well. Take care! Give the twins and Vee some lovin from me!

Glad to hear that almost everything is ok. Better a canvas storage unit gets damaged than the barn or house. Its good to get some rain after a drought but its a pitty it wouldn't come over a bit longer period of time. We finally got a little rain here over the last couple of days, about 10ml (around 40 points) and they have had snow on hills that only see it occasionally in mid winter Temps around 46 and this time of year its normally around 78 Stay safe Mikeal and give those cheeky babies a hug from me.

Geez, downundermumm, that's really cold for you this time of year. I know it's supposed to be spring there (and breeding season no less) I have a vet friend who went to New Zealand for one breeding season for the experience. They were laying on the beach while we were washing away in the rain.
The twins got out yesterday because we actually saw the sun. What a miracle that was! Surprise jogged the whole way out with her tail up over her back, prancing along proud as a peamale thingy. When I turned her loose she was off doing rollbacks, sliding stops, lead changes........just cutting up. For a filly that's supposed to have a bad hock, there was no sign of lameness or stress. It will be interesting to see how it looks today.
On another note, the twins granddam, Heiress, had a bad accident yesterday. She freaked at a little black thing on the hose and leapt into her stall, catching her shoulder and side on the door latch. It is the worst wound I have ever seen on a horse. When the vet arrived I was shaking so hard I could hardly hold the horse for him to treat. The tear went all the way through the skin and several layers of muscle and runs almost the entire length of her ribcage. Once it was all cleaned up and number so he could stitch it, it took over an hour just to sew it up. So please, more prayers, that there are no complications. Heiress is in foal and we don't need things to go wierd. I hope that's it for me and wreaks this year
