This is my very first posting. I must say since I found this Mare Stare website over a week ago I've been addicted!
My daughter has an Arabian that has some big names if you know Arabian pedigrees. On her sire's side she has Padrons Psyche, Barich De Washoe, Comar Bay Beau and Raffles. The dam's side is all Egyptian with The Egyptian Prince (goes back to Morafic and Nazeer) and Tahal.
We're planning to breed her this spring (maiden mare) to Odessy SC who is amazing! He's got a loaded pedigree with Versace, Fame VF+, Bey Shah, Echo Magniffico, Aladdinn and more. This is our very first time breeding and we're so excited. I'm hoping we get a baby that lives up to it's pedigree. I know it's all a gamble!

I don't know how much you have learned about your daughter's horse, but let me say:
THAT IS AN IMPRESSIVE PEDIGREE!
Paper doesn't always set you up for performance...but it can sure stack the odds in your favor!
Impressive...

I went on the first annual Fort Robinson trail ride put on by AHR and I got to meet THE Shelia Varian. She is probably one of the most influential Arabian breeders. She rode one of her own home bred horses and he was AWESOME. If you all don't know the VF as in Fame VF that VF stands for Varian Farms. Or if you see a V after an arabian's name it means that it is a Varian horse. Some of the best arabian stock in my book!!

Huck - as in Sheila's Huckleberry Bey - must be one of my MOST favorite horses...from when I was a kid, and even now!
We had a wonderful son of his at our barn (Liz Langford Arabians) Hucklebey Berry...I was just a kid, but I was star struck!

LOL Kelly, I use www.photobucket.com to upload my pictures (its free and really easy). Once you have uploaded your picture they there are some choices below it. There is three different "tags". You want to copy and paste the IMG tag. Then when you post a reply you paste the code into your reply and you picture should appear! Good luck and if you are still having trouble you are more then welcome to either email me or PM through marestare! Brittany

I have an own daughter of Blazing Hot! (This Chips A Blazin). If you know anything about western pleasure horses in the quarter horse industry you surely have heard of him. He is a World Champion himself and producer of many world and reserve world champions. Her dam is a daughter of Zips Chocolate Chip which is also a World Champion and world and reserve world champion producer. We also have a 2 yr old son of Sweet Talkin Chip, who is a son of Zips Chocolate Chip. Western pleasure breeding at it's finest!!

Versace is one of my favorites. WHEN ( ) I finally start my dream of breeding arabians, I am definitely going to have Bey Shah in their pedigrees. As far as Sheila Varian goes...well, she's my idol I was very fortunate to meet her at Scottsdale in 2002. She had Desperado there and when I asked if I could take his picture she opened his stall right up and told me to stand next to him. I felt like a teenager getting my picture taken backstage with a rock star lol. The arabian stallion that I would most like to breed to is Jullyen El Jamaal. Talk about spectacular!! Not at all surprised he is at Varian now.

I would love to get the chance to meet well know breeders like Sheila Varian, but I'm really new into the Arab circuit and haven't met too many people yet. I just feel lucky to have greats like Odyessey standing so close to home. Beside the Arab my daughter has, she had the priviledge to ride a black half-arab half appoloosa mare that is a Bey Shay granddaughter. She is awsome, and people have trouble figuring out what she is since they don't expect the appoloosa cross. The more I learn about Bey Shah, the more I see those traits in his grand-daughter.

This is cool, the horse you're planning on breeding to is related to my horses. Look up his pedigree and you will find LaToura Dare - she was the dam of my foundation mare Scandalous. You'll have a great cross there. The lines you are crossing are what my program is all about.

Fame VF was not bred by Sheila Varian. He was bred by Robert and Patricia Radamacher of Temcula,CA. The VF stands for Ventura Farms. Many of the horses they've bred over the years have the VF at the end of their names. Those horses included Rave VF (gorgeous national champion western horse with Bob Hart Jr) Fame does, however, represent Sheila's breeding since his sire is Bey Shah was sired by Bay El Bay who was bred by Sheila. (so that would make Sheila a great-grandmother, right )I think in the late 1970s and on breeding where she began to designated the names with the V at the end. But for some reason has not put that designation on all of the horses from that point on. The people from Ventura Farms would be great breeders to meet as well, they've contributed some great horses to our breed.

I have a little unpapered gelding who turns 21 this month, his sire was imported from England as was of Crabbet breeding. I've had him since he was a 3 yr old. He is the one who started my passion for Arabs. I also have an Echo Magnificoo son, and a Desperado V grandson.
