Well, Dave finally got the wall done and the partial wall put up dividing the stall so I've seperated Trouble and Surprise. No one is happy! I moved Gypcy into the adjoining stall and she's not happy, I moved Rose into Gypcy's stall and she's not happy. I put Trouble in the stall Rose came from so he could meet his new pasture buddy and neither he or Suede are happy. It's pretty darn noisy at my house.
You can see Surprise on the cam but when I checked it, it's shifted a little so you can't see Gypcy unless she's right up at the wall. She's staying back in the corner though, because she can see her buddy, Hope, through a hole in the wall. It could be interesting getting these two to bond. Cross your fingers.

Oh, MiKael - I bet you've got a ruckus in your barn tonight! Glad I'm not in earshot. Best of luck with this project. At least things will have quieted down before foaling starts. (Maybe?)

Wishes for a quiet day and soon! Bless their hearts and yours too. It's so hard for them to understand. And so hard for you to watch. Hugs for all.

Gypcy and Surprise seem to be getting along ok so I've already put them together in the same stall. You can seem them on the webcam. I'm going to keep an eye on them and if it continues to be OK, then I'll be moving the other two fillies into the adjoining stall this evening. Hopefully, we'll have Heiress on cam in the next day or two. She is starting to bag up so it's time for her to be on cam, that's for sure.

OK, I've moved the other two fillies to the other side of the wall and everyone seems to be pretty happy. I'm sure as the two mare's udders fill there will be some complaining but for now, they are all happy with their new roomies. The chestnut filly is Gypcy in with Surprise, on the other side of the wall you may get a glimpse of a bay filly, Rhapsody, and the gray (looks black) filly is Echo. They all have food and seem to be sharing ok. We'll keep our fingers crossed.

When I moved Heiress in to foaling stall, I moved Surprise and Gypcy to the other barn. So now Surprise and Trouble are in the same barn again, just two stalls separate them.
Surprise and Gypcy are really bonded to each other. Surprise is so happy to be one of the girls, I don't think she misses her brother nearly as much as he misses her.
The other day, I was taking the garbage out to the road and Trouble spotted me and started calling to me. You could just hear his little voice "Mom, Mom, help me! I need my sister!" Pretty soon, I could hear Surprise too, she wasn't nearly as adamant as her brother but she was definitely talking to him.

I have separated mares that were raised, and they have yelled for each other ran the fence. Now all our mares are toether and the stallion is separate. Good luck with your horses. I wanted Surprise but my husband is still scared of big horses and doesn't want one here. But I am still working on him.

Update on the twins. Yesterday Surprise and Trouble each went outside with their new pasture buddies. Surprise has been in the stall with Gypcy. They have been becoming fast buddies and I figured they would do great outside. Poor Gypcy hasn't had a buddy since I seperated her from Suede (Trouble's new buddy) so she has really taken to Surprise. I think Surprise is tickled to have a girl to play with. This is her first girlfriend, you know. I put all four yearling fillies (that's right the twins are yearlings now! ) and at first Rhapsody and Echo were keeping to themselves but by the end of the day all four fillies were hanging out together. As for the boys, they are stalled right next to each other but this was their first time out together. They were great. The paddock I put them in doesn't have grass so I put a flake of hay in there and they were sharing just fine. They wrestled a little but it was all good clean baby boy type fun. I think both colts were glad to have another boy to play with. Vee on the other hand was not so happy. She was in a field where she could see both of her babies. She spent a good time yelling because they were ignoring her. Trouble who has always been such a mama's boy wouldn't leave his friend to visit her and she was not a happy mare. You'd think it's been long enough since I weaned them that she wouldn't care. But she was one stressed mother.

Trouble and Surprise are both outside enjoying the sunshine with they're new best buddies. I don't know if I mentioned that both of the new buddies are big yearlings. It's good to see that the twins are not much smaller than their yearling counterparts. They are still a little small for Arabians but nowhere near as far from normal size as when they were born. Their growth this year will tell whether or not they are going to be dwarfs or not. Thanks to eveyone who has been following my blog. It made the ranking into the Top 100 Equestrian Sites on that site yesterday. I'm hoping that my blog risingrainbow.blogspot.com will help me get a publisher for the twins' story. I've always wanted to write and Trouble and Surprise seem like the place to start.

Wow, sure enjoyed reading the Twins' updates. I followed their tale last year when they were first born and were having those leg problems. How are they doing leg-wise? thanks, betsy

The leg situation is better but not completely resolved yet. We are still doing corrective trimming but I'm trying to sort through some other options to see if they might work for these two. There are glue on shoes that are supposed to help dramatically but I have't been able to find anyone around here who's proficient with their use. The farrier I wanted to help me had a massive coronary and is no longer doing horses. So I"l still searching.
