Lets share why we picked our screen Names. And How we named our farms. I picked "Shammy" after my APHA Mare that died in a Barn fire. She was my best friend and I always think of her. My farm is "SALT MARSH FARM" because we live on a salt marsh. Next.....

Well, as I said in another post, Wisteria Farms currently only exists in my heart and in my dreams. One day I dream of breeding arabian horses. I chose Wisteria Farms as the name of my future farm because my grandmother loved wisterias and had them in her yard. She passed away when I was 2. My mom planted a wisteria in our yard in memory of my grandmother, and when I got married and got my own place, I also planted wisterias. I have grown to love them as well, but I mainly planted them in memory of my grandma. Even though she passed away when I was only 2 years old, I do have vivid memories of her, and my mom tells stories of when my brother was an infant (still when I was 2) she would find me in his room talking 'to myself', and when she asked me what I was doing I would tell her I was talking to grandma because she was there looking at the baby. So I always felt I had some sort of connection to her...and my farm will be named after her in a 'secret' way . Julie

Aw, Julie...that's really neat. I understand the "connection" thing very well. I named my farm for the first home that I remember as a child was on Brookhaven Dr. in Atlanta. I've always wanted a house near/on water and when I got my first "farm" it was bordered on two sides by a small creek so I named it Brookhaven. Then I moved to where I am now, and, of course, am bordered by water. The Haw River is my back property line (although, it is really a "brook") and both sides of my property are bordered by runoff streams from two lakes. I have lots of deer and other little critters that come to the river to drink and play in my pastures, so I feel very blessed to live in my little "haven"

We are "Elements" because of our stallions - We have Breeze (Berry Khool Breeze) for "wind", Frost (Windsong Firefrost) for "fire", River (Pandemonium River) for "water" and Aatlas for "earth" ;D

User name is Nettie as my name is Annette and everyone calls me Nettie (some people have known me for over 10 years and still don't know my real name..lol).
Barn name is Silhouette Park. I chose this name as a 10 year old, over 15 years ago now. I dreamed of one day breeding horses and my best friend (now an equine vet!) and I decided to think of a name... It had to start with "S" because both our first horses names started with the letter "S" my last name is Smith so thats another "S".... we actuall got a dictionary each and wrote down a heap of "S" names... did a shortlist and Silhouette was on the top of both of our lists, also with the "ette" at the end.. it really fits in... child hood dreams turning into reality.. !
And now we have our mares on MareStare.. what a fairytale!

I don't really have my own farm just yet as I am only 22, but my SN is "lilpercherongirl" because I love to show percherons and some of my grandpa's friends always call me "there's our little girl" whenever they see me...and since I look about 12 Can I put my grandpa's farm name here since I'm super close with them and show their drafts? It's "JaMar's Rocking R" since my grandpa's name is "James" and my grandma's name is "Marie"...not sure where they got the "rocking r" part, but i'm sure it's because it rhymes with the first part and their last name is "Russell"...

I chose Lilpondarosamini because thats the name of our farm. And it was chosen because when we bought our place my husband use to call it our Lil' Pondarosa then the minis came along and we added Minis to the end of it.

Cool idea.....everyone asks us how we came up with Mulligan's Run Farm. I've actually been called Heather Mulligan - haha Well...I had always wanted a lamb and one Valentine's Day my always thoughtful husband surprised me with a little male lamb who I promptly called Mulligan. (or Mully Mully). Mulligan was one of those "once in a lifetime" animals that you KNOW loves you as much as you love them. He would cry when I left him - and I'd walk him around on a leash. Well, I didn't know that dogs love lambs - and not in a good way. We were having problems keeping our dogs in and so we put them in the horse pasture, which unfortunately also housed my Mully. I came home one day and Mulligan wasn't at the gate waiting on me. I found him in the woods bleeding from the neck - puncture wounds caused by my dogs. I ran him to our vet who administered meds and I brought him home, but the next day he died. I swore that I would never forget him, and I called our farm Mulligan's Run because he was running free. Still makes me cry to think of him.....and that was over over 10 years ago. And my name on the board is just my name. Being the administrator I don't get to choose alot of different things - or I've never tried.

My screen name is my farm name, just without the Arabians at the end.
The rising rainbow is symbolic for me. There's a quote that says "You can never have a rainbow without a cloud and a storm." I have it framed and hung where I see it every day so I'll always remember the rainbow is a symbol of hope. It tells you a better time is coming after the storm.
I struggled with chronic depression most of my adult life. I did a lot of therapy that led to me realize how much I'd always wanted a horse (I remembered lots of other things from therapy too, but they weren't as important as the horse. ) Finally allowing myself to reach out for my dream of owning and breeding Arabian horses was my first step out of the darkness of depression.
The day I bought Scandalous changed my life. There's a tribute to her on my web site, part of it reads. "...she was my hope. Scandalous gave me the courage to rise out of the darkness, like the rainbow rises from the storm...." She saved my life and the name of my farm is in tribute to her.

Well my name is ClevengerPaints.. at least I think it is...LOL.. Obviously after my farm.. Clevenger Paint Horses.. and duh mine is boring and lame.. not as touching and sad, as heathers.. man I am crying over that story..so sorry...
I chose Clevenger Paint Horses after hard thought..lol..My last name is Clevenger, which is my married name.. I want my husband invloved in everything so I decided hay Use our last name along with Paint Horses which is what we focus on.
Im only 20 years old and have always loved horses and had them most of my life.. Well I had always wanted to own a breeding farm, or a boarding or training or something farm.. Well not knowing it but on my 18th birthday when I baught a little 2 year old bay roan breeding stock paint filly did I know that my farm had started and she would be the building blocks to my future..I called her breeder to let her know I had her and knowing that lady has opened so many doors for me on my horses.. I mean I buy 90 perecnt of my horses from her now..LOL.
Well in the two years that I have had her now I have gained 7 other mares..LOL.. 2 Stallions, and some odd balls here and there.. Making my breeding program up and running and functioning fully this year.. So even though I am only 20 my dream has come true..
