Wonderful pictures. They look like they belong in a book or something. Great photography. What a good mama to let the other horse with her while giving birth.

Thanks alot. I appreciate all the kind remarks. I think my son has finally learned how to use my camera I'm just so glad she gave birth in the light of day. Her other two foals she did about 2-3 hours before dawn and I just barely missed them. The other horse is her half sister. They have been together all their lives. So big sis is protective. Course big sis is just protective of the babies anyways. Name...good question. Any suggestions???

I'm not good with the naming thing I have named our horses but haven't gotten a chance (YET) to name a foal. I have a mare that I hope she has a healthy baby then I will get to play the naming game.
Although I was thinking about a name for your foal maybe something with Suprise in it since you were suprised she was born in the day............ Just a thought.......
I agree, all of the horses are very beautiful. Your son makes a great camera man also.......

Wow that was awesome. Beautiful, natural birth out in the meadow. I've have never really been able to see it that clearly on the cams because usually at night and lighting isn't nearly as strong. Boy that amniotic sac is really thick, isn't it? One day I will get to see one born in person. I sometimes wish the cams had sound so we could hear all the action too. The half sis checking her out is really cute. Like what the h are you doin', sis? Thank you, Thank you, how did you happen to catch it out in the field?

I was outside working in the roundpen with a filly. It is in the pasture with the mares right now and I just saw her getting ready to lay down. When she laid down, her water broke. So I knew what was fixing to happen. She was 340 days on the 15. So I had already been keeping an eye on her and knew she was getting close. As soon as I seen that happen, I called my son on the phone to bring the camera outside. Kinda funny really, he had just went back in the house about 10 minutes earlier. She knew I was right there too.
