Well, as far as barn name, I really like "Bella" and also "Daisy". Really hard to decide. Told my husband the suggestions, he really didn't say anything one way or the other. It's usually up to me to name these foals. So, I'm just letting the suggestions roll around in my head. The names will usually come to me after awhile. hmmmm, Poco San Bella? Skipping Daisies? Pocos Skipping Daisy? Bellas a Joy? Still thinking it over. Sire is Joys San Skip and dam is Pocos smuggler

Thanks again to everyone for all the compliments. I'm gonna take the name suggestions, get some updated photos for registration and give them all a try and see what the APHA lets me use. Daisy is just gettting over the diarrhea from momma being in foal heat. Even with vasoline greased bottom, she still ended up with a scalded bottom. If yall want, I'll post the photos in a couple of days, she's really filled out wonderfully, nice little conformation. We're also gonna have her tested for homozygous, she looks to have some "ink spots" and a few "pawprints" but that will be a couple of weeks.

Just a question. I've seen a lot of mares just lay there for a few minutes while their people get the foal out of the sac and dry it, etc. Read about mares letting their foals die in the sac... So, in the wild, do the other mares ever assist? Do they learn about getting the foal out of the sac by watching others? It seems like some horses have lost natural birthing instincts and/or knowledge.
