Nice! Love the tune Lady Marmalade from "Moulan Rouge".
I never have done dressage. But I love to watch great teams dance together.
Just wondering, this horse seems to really be feeling the groove in the pop stuff. Do dressage horses start to feel the rhythm in the music as a musician would?
Thanks for sharing the video; I remember watching this performance on Animal Channel.

I am happy you enjoyed it...you know, I was wondering the same thing...I guess we need someone who is well versed in this free style dressage, but I also watched the video that tinypony posted, the horse that actually won the competition and the announcers were saying something to the effect of "they choreographed the music to the beat of the horse", so they sort of reversed things...I THINK!!! Then I think I remember them saying the horse knew the music, I CANNOT IMAGINE a horse being cued and responding that fast to a rider...maybe some horses just have rhythm...

Casper and I don't do Freestyle Dressage yet, but we have been using the rhythm beads and sometimes (don't laugh) I sing to him when we work or when he's nervous. And he seems much more relaxed. He has on occasion moved to the rhythm of the music in the loud speaker of our arena also. He seems to like 80's rock !! So maybe we can do a routine to that. Sure would make a statement!!! But they might throw us !!! LOL!! He can certainly hear the beat and seems to like it and move to it most of the time when it is present. So maybe some horses do like the music!!

We'll certainly do that as soon as we are back under saddle! Which can't come soon enough!!! I miss being on his back (though not the fighting )!!! He's my baby and I think he's so going to love showing. He seemed to glow in the ring on the 7th!! He loves it when the attention is on him!! What ever works right?
