Sorry I didn't get to feed him on cam today. His afternoon feeding wasn't on cam because my Dad's birthday cake was cooling on racks where I put the cam and feed him, and my Mom is feeding him tonight because my back is hurting really bad. Will try to have it on cam tomorrow.

I'm so in love with Echo. What a cutie. What do you have on bottom of brooder? (pellets?) About how often does he have to be fed and do you have to feed during the night? Thanks for sharing Echo with us.

I bed my babies on rabbit food. It breaks down to a powder when wet, so if they were to eat it, it will break down into a powder, and it's actual food, so it won't hurt them. Unlike wood pellets, corn cob, paper, etc. Although they rarely eat it. Plus it's pretty cheap. He is on 3 feedings per day right now, and I don't feed through the night. I like for them to empty good overnight. I do try to feed later at night and earlier in the morning, though, especially with the younger ones so they don't go quite as long overnight. He should start beginning to get his feathers soon. He's pretty fuzzed up now. I am so glad everyone is enjoying him. I thought it would be something different for people to watch. And his owner gets to see him some this way too.

It's a powdered formula you mix with water, heated. He likes it at 110 degrees.

Echo sure is getting stronger and stronger by the day. Have noticed him sitting up longer, and using his beak more. Have also noticed him grooming himself. Guess his new feathers are irritating him some. At what age will he be totally feathered? Rabbit pellets. What a good idea! At what age are they weaned? Sorry for all the questions but a bird is one critter I haven't raised and I find it interesting. Thanks for sharing Echo and for your answers. Hope you are feeling better D.

He really is starting to stand up more, and does groom himself. His feathers won't be fully in for quite some time. It's been a while for me, but probably at least a month on the feathers. They wean at around 4 months. He was hatched 4/28, so he has a way to go yet.

Sorry... I have static on my phone line, which is causing my DSL to throw constant hissy fits. The phone company will be here by 7:30 PM tomorrow to check my line and (hopefully) find and fix the problem. Please bear with me! This is such a nuisance!!

Well, he's really growing! Had to move him to a bigger tub, and move the cam up. His feathers are really starting to come in too. He'll really start looking like a little hedgehog soon. Things have been a bit hectic around here, so I haven't been able to feed him on cam as much lately. Still having some phone issues. Phone co is coming again tomorrow. Thanks for watching and enjoying him!
