We have a Blue and Gold Macaw that is 15 months old. He was hand raised. They are fun to play with. I have developed an allergy to my bird. I am going to have to part with him. If you can let me know of someone that might be interested in buying let me know.

I am boarding an African Gray right now. His name is Tator and he's just 2 years old and his vocabulary is enormous already. He says "Good morning, breakfast", "I love you Tator Bug", "come here", "bat bird", "are you OK?", "wanna go downstairs?", "want to go take a shower?", "Don't bite", "here kitty kitty", "be good boy", "Angel, good girl", (thats the family dog) "I'm sorry", "bye bye", "water" and he sings "you are my sunshine". He is truly an amazing bird and I look forward to him coming to stay with me. I have him quite often.

Echo is just too cute! Is that fruit loops? LOL! At what age can they start talking? Parrots are sooo smart. A friend's daughter has a gray that answers the phone if he's out. He even pushes the "talk" button to answer it. He says "hello" then "it's for you". LOL. She said he has a vocabulary of over 50 words and phrases. He's around 3 years old and picks up new things all the time. His name is Bama. I would love a small parrot but Mike says no ("ain't you got enough?") plus the cats would terrorize the poor thing. So Echo is really special to me. Thanks again Deidre for sharing him with us.

My timing has been so far off...not watched a feeding yet but did see Echo waving a Fruit Loop about, that was cute. Thank you for thinking of the cam!

Deidre, I just adore little Echo . I've watched him/her progress from a pink-splotched pale gray downy ball with a head that wobbled on a skinny neck, to a black-edged winged tyke who is sprouting bright red tail feathers and can stand and walk instead of just waddling from place to place, and can hold his/her head high and steady. . S/he even opens its beak as if trying to talk. What a fascinating creature to watch. I've caught a couple of feedings and am amazed at how much s/he can hold. S/he's napping right now. Can't wait to see him/her active again. Thanks again for sharing ...

You're quite welcome! Echo is getting to be quite the little rascal! He has learned to dig, and is throwing the rabbit food bedding everywhere! Not only in the brooder, but all over the kitchen cabinets and stove! The poor dogs run when it starts raining rabbit food! It's a natural instinct for them, because they scratch and dig around to 'clean' the inside of the nest in the wild. I keep telling him it isn't necessary because I am keeping his nest clean. I fuss at him when the rabbit food flies, and his little head comes up with the halo on and the angelic look like, "I'm not doing anything!" He's SO funny! Has such personality already!

Cute baby you got there. When he hardly had any feathers I showed my African Grey Parrot Alex the cam he stared at the baby LOL told him to give him or her a kiss and he did he kissed the camara LOL. I had my parrot for 9 years got him 2 weeks after he was weaned. They are neat birds but not for everyone.

I know how you feel Marion, I had two adorable 'tiels named Bowie and Skittles and we had to find them a new home because my husband developed an allergy to them. We were both really devestated because you really fall in love with the little guys. Luckily I did have a friend who's mom had 3 'tiels, and so they went to live with them in their new forever home, I check on them from time to time and they seem really happy. Skittles fell in love with one of the other birds and now they are inseperable and their new owners little grandson is crazy about Bowie and gives him kisses all the time, so I feel good about it, because I know they are happy. I hope you can find something similar.
