First, I want to say : "WHEW!!!!!" It has been such a LONG wait for this baby, but Praise the Lord, the baby and Buttercup are doing just fine. It is dark and cold outside though, so we came inside the house but are keeping good tabs on them both. We are having a problem of Buttercup going near the edge of the perimeter and three times now the baby has gotten out of the field. So, we are having to keep a good watch on them. I so wish Buttercup would let us keep h er in the shelter and close the door, but she just wont stay in the shelter. ARGGG Anyways, we believe the baby is a colt. He was born at 8:58 PM tonight. His name is Trigger. How exciting!! Ashleigh had to pull him out, Buttercup wasn't able to push him out. This is an experience she nor the whole family will forget. Here are a some pics of our night!! I am sure Amber and Ashleigh will post more tomorrow. Thank you for all your prayers and help!! Hope that wasn't too many pics posted!! I have more!! LOL Thanks again, God Bless, Tari PS I am SURE looking forward to some sleep soon!! LOL

From Butter's dad
I am so proud of the way Tari and the girls stepped up and took care of the situation. I was on my way to work and got home 5 or 10 minutes after the baby had arrived. Thanks to Mare Stare, they knew exactly what needed to be done. God Bless all of the folks involved and all of the folks who shared the experience of birth via their cams... I truly believe it was the difference that was needed for us to have a live foal...
Some of you may remember the song that goes " I wanna be a cowboy and you can be ..." Well, now it is true when I say " I got me a horse and his name is Ttttttrigggger..."

Congratulations on a beautiful new baby!! Buttercup sure made you'll wait for him. Were you able to find baby blankets in time? Just make sure the little one stays warm and dry...and dip that umbilical stump. Give Trigger lots of kisses from his mare stare fan club.
