I am another voice to say Marestare is fantastic. I haven't seen this posted so...I just spent a few frustrating minutes trying to sign into marestare and it finally clicked in...I was on the actual site of the foaling. Is there a way when you log into Marestare, the ID/PW would work for the web site of the actual cam too?

You don't need to be signed in to the message board to view the cams. Cam pages can be accessed here: www.marestare.com/Cams.htmwhether you are logged into the message board or not. Bookmark the above URL for future reference. I'm not sure if I answered your question or not. If not, please let me know.

You answered what I asked, I just didn't ask the right question! I meant the individual message boards for the individual cam sites. I usually read right from Mare Stare but sometimes when on the cam site, I go to their own message board, that's the one I asked if there was a way being logged here would allow access to send messages on those sites too. Sorry, I know this isn't worded well and thank you for taking the time to answer.

No, unless they are hosted here (at the bottom of our message board home page) they are separate boards and have their own login programs. However on many boards, when you sign in, you can set the time to "forever" which will cause it to remember you when you return.

Thank you, that answered my question...never thought about using the "forever" during this season.

Mr. Heather's Dad. You brought tears to my eyes. I can just tell how proud you are of your daughter. I can't begin to tell you how much my daughter and I have learned in the short time we have been part of the Marestare family. This is one of the classiest, best run sites I have ever come across. I am in total agreement. Here's to a Marestare's Day in honour of Heather.

I AM SOOO BAD! I AM THE WORST AT POSTING SENSELESS BANTER! I have tried to get into the chat room and it just won't load! I don't know how to get it to work! The problem is I love posting sensless banter! Besides watching the beautiful horses, seeing them foal and watching the babies grow the senseless banter is what I enjoy most. The joking and the funny stuff! I am totally guilty of not reading anything else on the site besides the foaling alert page because quite honestly that's all I want to read! I had no idea it was upsetting to people to read chit-chat. I can't promise I will stop all the banter but I will definitely try to slow down. [REPLY -- by Rich] Try updating your java. You can get the latest Sun Java here:
java.com/en/download/index.jspTHANKS, RICH! I'M GONNA TRY IT!That said I have a suggestion. In the modify profile page there's a little box you can check that lets you turn off the avatars and photos in the signature bars and yet still get the smilies and pictures that are posted. I have very slow dial-up and turning this feature off has helped my pages load so much faster. And as for finding posts made by the farm all you have to do is go to the first page of the thread and click on their name on the left. (ALSO ON THE FOALING ALERTS PAGE RIGHT IN THE CENTER IT SAY WHO STARTED THE THREAD, CLICK ON THE NAME, THEN SCROLL DOWN AND IT WILL SAY SOMETHING LIKE LAST 10 POSTS,CHANGE THE 10 TO 30 AND CLICK SUBMIT, IT WILL SHOW YOU 30 OF THAT PERSONS LAST POSTS. THAT IS USUALLY ENOUGH TO GET COMPLETELY UPDATED ON ANY HORSE!) It takes you to their profile and the last five or so post they made. Maybe this will help folks locate the their much desired updates faster! [REPLY -- by Rich] That's a very good idea. We try to limit signature images to 500 pixels wide by 200 pixels high, for people such as yourself who have slow connections. But turning them off in your profile can save even more precious bandwidth. One more suggestion (I'm trying to get them all in one post!) When I joined the website I had to wait a few days before I could sign on. I received a an email saying that I could log in. Maybe whoever sends that email could include a link that would take you to the rules and guidelines of MareStare then they would have to check "agree or disagree" kind of like a terms of use thing. Or maybe at the top of each page where the lists of "DO NOTs" is there could be a little note that says "please do not use this thread as a comedy club stage (guilty), or a place to practice your sports announcing play-by-plays (also guilty), or a place to keep your way too long running inside jokes going (I'm so pathetic), or a place to talk about your husbands, your kids, your own ponies and what you did today (I don't know what's wrong with me)" Maybe that will help newbies like me to realize that this is a serious place of foaling not horsin' around! [REPLY -- by Rich] Also very good ideas. We will most likely be moving to an in-house message board in the off-season. The new message board requires you to read the rules and check that you have read them and agree to them before you continue registering. It also goes one step further. If there is a change to the rules, it forces you to read the update the next time you sign in.
If you feel you MUST talk about your horses or your family, there are boards just for that ("Talk Around the Stables" and "Off the Farm," respectively.) The one exception is humor. That is welcome anywhere.
Respectfully yours, Twosuperstudponies! UPDATE: I just read the MB rules. Apparently I'm not the only who hasn't read them yet since it has only been read 856 times. I am glad to see that senseless banter is okay as long as it is pertaining to the horse the MB is about! But I'll still try to control myself!

I love MS and thanks so much for this site. One suggestion can we post at the bottom of the page where it shows everyone sign( Info Center) on a new section with moderator. Then all moderators that are online would be in that section. I'm going to each section now and hitting their name to see if they are on and sometimes can't find one.
