My name is Joanne
I live in Beautiful Cape Breton, Nova Scotia..Which is on the east coast of Canada....Surrounded by ocean
Our mare on cam is in the process of giving us our very first foal....She was purchased from a fellow Marestare participant (High Meadow Quarterhorses)....Kelly is in foal to their amazing stud "Salty Hobby Boy".....We are very excited about the arrival of this foal
I have been involved in horses for most of my life and have passed my love of horses onto my daughter....Morgan is 10ys old and is entering her 4th year of showing....Her passion is Barrels and Poles...And boy or boy is she good....She finished her season last year as High Point Champion in her division...And in her 4-H year was was top Jr. Pole Bender for the Province and Reserve champion overall.....I am very proud of my babies accomplishments, her love and respect for her horse....
My daughter and Century (her pony) have a bond that is so hard to explain...One you have to see to understand....
You can see my mare under the farm name Seaview farm My barn is set up as a run-in barn...We only recently put the stall in for Kelly to foal.....
Looking forward to watching many of your horses foal

Hi. My name is Cathy. I live in Florida (Ocala). I am 37 years old. I have two children. Guess what? I love horses. I have been horse crazy ever since I was 8 years old. I attended Averett College in Virginia for Equestrian Studies. I grew up in Great Falls Pony Club before that. I have Arabians and Miniatures. I have a 26 year old Khemosabi son, my stallion, who is just a darling boy. I have mostly senior horses who are happily living out their lives here being pampered and treasured. In the Miniature area I have a 28" black and white pinto stallion named Make A Wish Whammy's Little Big John and 4 mini mares. One is 27 years old and retired from breeding. She is a beloved pet now. Her name is Komokos Gypsy Lady. My children will begin to show some of the minis in halter. We are also learning how to drive and it sure is fun. We do field trips out here every year for free to local schools to allow children to meet, touch and even ride horses. We love all animals though and have some rabbits, birds, chickens, cats, and a Welsh Corgi named Pepper (age 5) and a mini Doxie named Brownie. (age7) It is so nice to find such caring people here. Sincerely, Cathy in Florida

Hey!
My name is Rebecca. I live in South Australia. Which is kinda cool bcoz when you are all asleep I am awake and able to see mares foaling in the middle of the night(for you, day here). I have 5 horses which is hard work atm bcoz hay isnt of the best quality or easy to get due to the drought. Also our old mare (31yo this year) needs constant attention, when it gets too hot she gets nosebleeds so we have to keep her cool, between her and working there aint much time left. So I am really looking forward to winter this year and hoping that we acctually get some rain this year.
What else can I say? I live with my sister, just the two of us (shes 20 I'm 23). I really want to go overseas for a year to live in Scotland, but I cant think of anything worse than having to sell my babies so that I can go.
We also have 3 kitty cats, and 2 GSP's(dogs) that are getting quite aged and senile...
Since "hanging around" this message board for a couple of weeks I juust HAD to join, everyone seems so lovely, and, like me, HORSE CRAZY!!!!
So, for now, thats all about me.
(thanks for reading my ramblings)

Hello, My name is Heather, and I live in Southwest Florida. I have a 3 year old daughter, two black labs and a Golden Retriever. And of course, my 15 year old QH gelding, Durango. I have had horses since I was 10 years old - I was the typical horse-crazy girl - didn't play with Barbies, I played with my Breyer horses - LOL! I've had multiple horses over the years, and used to show Hunter Jumper, and a little bit of halter. Now I just trail ride and pamper my gelding. I love Mare Stare! Nice to meet you all, Heather

Hi, everyone, my name is CJ. I am in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. I have been around horses all my life, and on the ranch most of it. I recently had to give up most of the outside and barn things due to balance issues in MS. But I am now a Mare Stare addict also! I still have the dogs (Aussies), but don't have horses anymore since I can't care for them. Ohhh, to be able to sit a saddle again, I really miss that. I appreciate the hospitality of the barn owners here that invite us into their world. Have a great day, everyone!

Hi, I'm Jessi in Az. I'm new here, just signed up... but I have been reading, figuring out this board this week. And I"ve been watching some mares (mainly Mulligan's Run) for months now. I REALLY REALLY REALLY wanna catch a mare foaling! I have bad luck, they always foal between my watches! Like today, I JUST missed Honey... sigh... Anyhow, I"m excited to be here. I have 18 equines currently. 2 are TB geldings, 1 buckskin grade gelding, 1 RMH gelding, 1 bs paint mare, 1 Friesian filly (Rosanne van de Slingenberg, aka Radiance, will be 2 this month), 2 mini donkeys (1 jenny, 1 gelding), and 10 miniature horses (3 geldings, 3 stallions, and 4 mares). I have one baby due, my 31.5" mini mare Landrys Cowboys Diamonds & Rubys (Dels Cowboy daughter), and by my 28" stallion Late Attraction by Cochise. She is due in April. She will be on marestare shortly, I still have a few things I need to do/buy to get her here, but gotta wait until next payday! It will be my (and Tracker's) first baby, but Ruby has had 6 or 7 foals before. She is a chestnut pinto, and Tracker is a bay pinto. I"m hoping for a bay pinto filly! Nice to meet everyone! If anyone has any tips on catching a mare, please let me know (by that I mean not missing her foaling). I just discovered the alert thing, and I"m keeping close watch on the message board... I have Magic and China up, as well as a mare Scotch b/c I was curious what the people in her stall were doing when I happened to open up her cam EDIT TO ADD: Well, now that I've looked at other replies, I see you can post pictures, so I'll do a little of that And wanted to add some more to my intro. My hubby is Craig, and besides the horses, here at CheyAut Ranch (named after my TB, who I still have, who was my first horse, and my horsey sould mate, CHEYenne AUTumn, get it?) we also have 8 (YIKES) dogs (Alaskan Malamute, Malamute/Siberian, Miniature Australian Shepherd, terrier mix, pit bull/shar pei, spar pei/chow, and 2 sisters who's dad is a leonberger and mom is 1/2 newfie and 1/2 pyrenean mastiff), 12 strictly indoor house cats, 4 Nigerian Dwarf goat wethers, and 4 baby bunnies. Oh yeah, 2 leopard geckos and 3 large fish. My website www.CheyAutRanch.com will be up soon, but isn't yet! But you can see my critters at smg.photobucket.com/albums/v295/CheyAut/Here is Cheyenne Radiance as a yearling and I (I'm short at only 5') The expectant mom, Ruby (she wasn't too far along in this picture) And soon to be dad, Tracker Jessi

Hello everyone. My name is Christine known as crinks.............long story childhood nickname that never really went away and most undignified for a 50 year old lady! I've always had horses and ponies right from being little, and if I haven't owned one of my own have had the privilege of riding some lovely ones belonging to others.
We live in the lovely part of England known as the Ribble Valley in deepest darkest Lancashire, in the North of England, the nearest location I can give is a place called Blackpool is not very far from us!
We are lucky in that we have 46 aces for our horse to roam, a friend has kindly let us keep her at her farm for the past 5 years now, and she shares the place with friends horses and a another little welsh section D mare. We have our lovely pure bred arab mare, Crystal Atlantis, who I bought as a 'well done exam passing' present for my daughter some 11 years ago now. Best thing I ever bought! She has given so much pleasure through the years, shown kindness of spirit , and generousity of heart and been a boon companion for my daughter through the good and bad times, and theres been a few of both. Daughter comes on her as elvenkeeparabians, and it was she who introduced me to this site watching the lovely brave and wonderful Sassy the other evening, I was glued to this place!
I'm what is called a 'mature' student here, in that I have returned to university somewhat late in my life to study for a degree in Social Sciences, don't ask me why, it seemed a good idea at the time! Don't ride as much as I would like to as I have no horse of my own at the moment but as soon as this degree is finished then I will look for another horse and restart my riding again.
This site is a wonderful idea, so supportive to all and so friendly, hope to remain a member for a long time to come.

Hi Everyone, I guess it really is about time I introduced myself, since I've been jumping in to some of the conversations going on here on the board. My name is Deana and I live on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, just outside the small town of Ladysmith. For those of you who don't know where that is, if you look on a map, Vancouver Island is the big one just off the west coast of Canada and Ladysmith is approximately the middle on the east coast of the island...........Dalemma, who posted just a few messages ago is about one hour north of where I live. I run a 5 acre wholesale plant and tree seedling nursery here and live on the property. My first and only horse was a beautiful big thouroughbred/Percheron cross named Dea and she was such a pleasure. I had to give her up because I took a job in the city and she was just too big to keep in the apartment .....so here I sit coveting everyone else's beautiful beasties. I would like to say at this point, that my heart and huge hugs go out to all of you that have rescued some of these magnificent creatures, and I'm behind you 100 percent that those people should be treated the same way they have treated the animals in their "care". It would seem too that I have become the crazy cat lady you have all read about..........for some reason, any, and all, strays for miles around, end up at my door (could it be the heating pads in the cat nests for the winter, hmmmm).........enough rambling.......thanks for reading ........and I look forward to meeting all of you on the board...........Mare Stare keep up the excellent work, there is a huge place in Heaven for you. Bye for now, Deana, Floppy, Russell T. Cat, Riley the Grumpus, Tango, Merlin, Recce and Miss Simon the Munchkin Kitten.

Hello all,My name is Annette and I live in Kemptville Ontario..Kemptville used to be a small town but we are growing like mad..My daughter just turned 12 and has been riding since she was six.She rides western and started running barrels last summer.Finess Farms is where she rides and they are like family. My friend Joanne(JOJO) is the one that got us hooked on MARE STARE, Thanks Jo..My hubby and I bought the house we live in 2 yuears ago,we settled for one in town because there was nothing on the market close enough to town worth the money.I am a volunteer firefighter and have to be close enough to town for response time.I have been a volunteer 5 years this april and love every minute of it.I would eventually like to move out of town to a SMALL hobby farm so Shelby could have a horse and setup of her own.She usually stays out at Finesse every other weekend and does chores.I am also into muscle cars and own a 72 Nova SS,my husband has his own 71 Ventura..So I like going to the track as well. This is a little about myself.I love this site and I would like to thank everyone from MARESTARE who lets us be part of their lives by watching their mares and babies come into this world ..Thank-you again ANNETTE
