Hello! My name is Roxanne and I live in Texas. I have loved horses all my life and have shoveled tons of manure in exchange for riding. I own and show model horses, mostly Breyer. My models do not need the room of the real thing so I can have many in a small space. I have never owned a horse but, I have been riding since I was 15. I have been watching foalcams for several years now and have enjoyed meeting everyone.

Trickhorses you have beautiful horses and I really love your Gypsy Vanner mare, what a beauty she is with that long mane and tail.

Hi, my name is Teresa and I live in the great state of Montana. I am 50 ish (oh my that was hard to type). I am married and have two adult children. I have owned, bred, raised and trained Arabians, Half Arabians, Miniatures and Saddlebreds for most of my life.
I have leased and ran a 60 stall boarding stable with horses of all breeds and disciplines. My daughter and I have competed in dressage, hunter, saddle seat, western and native costume in the "A" level and shown at nationals. I have also done some pleasure driving.
Before I was married I worked for a veterinarian and foaled out horse all over the west coast for some prestigious farms.
After the loss of our last Arabian gelding from colic at the age of 28 we just couldn't bring ourselves to "replace" him with another Arabian. So.... while we had agreed to wait until Spring to get another horse, we lasted 2 months and purchase three, quarter horses this time. A Palamino mare with her yearling filly and a sorrel gelding. None of them have that much time under saddle and so we are in the process of building an arena. (And if the winter weather ever lets up we might get it finished.) Once they are more secure with their under saddle work, I would like to spend my time trail riding in the mountains around our home.
I have been shopping around for a miniature mare in foal to purchase as I would really like to return to breeding horses and I love the "A" class miniatures. I wouldn't love to return to the show ring for halter and driving.
It is great to get to know a little about all of you and I enjoy your company on marestare.

Hi My name is Bonnie and I am retired from owning and teaching in a day care for 27 years. The day care specialized in mainstreaming children with special needs into the general day care enrollment. My first horse were American Saddlebreds which I showed when I was younger, but when I retired I decided minis would be great fun and have five. They are very spoiled. I have also been breeding, and showing Collies for twenty five years having many champions in all four colors and both varieties. We live in central Illinois on a few acres designed for the comfort of the animals. I have two children and five granchildren. One has inherited the animal loving gene and spends hours with both the Collies and the minis. I really appreciate watching all the beautiful foals born and thanks the barn cam owners for letting us all share. Bonnie www.mysticcollies2.com

Hi, I'm Maria and I live in North Dakota. There are lots of horses here but none are mine. In fact, I have never even really been around horses, but I love the foal cams and I just wanted to say hello. Still waiting for my first foaling but I have only been watching for about 3 days.
I love the Dakam horses because I think they are beautiful, especially Riley, but also because I used to live in Maple Valley where they are from. It connects me to home when I watch them.
Thanks for letting us watch your horses with you. It is very kind of you.
Maria

I guess I should go ahead and chime in since I have been staring for the past two months. My name is Jen Sommer and I live in the tiny town of Clarksville, Ohio which is between Dayton, Cincinnati and Columbus. I am also mommy to five-year-old Will, who has been showing in leadline since he was three. I have never pushed Will to ride because I would rather him enjoy the ponies because HE wants to. Will has been doing riding lessons about once a week since he was three and a half, but only since he turned five in November have the lessons been anything more than leading him around. He is now steering and stopping all by himself and really enjoying it. The first picture below is from Will's first show in August of 2005. The second one is from September 2006. I am a Welsh Pony breeder and currently have seven ponies, one stallion, four mares (only two are part of the breeding program) and two youngsters. I do not have any foals coming this year, but will be breeding my two Welsh mares in a couple of weeks for 2008 babies. I have been riding and showing horses since I was eight when my mom bought me riding lessons for Christmas. I was a package deal where if you buy 10 you get the 11th lesson free. After that, there was no stopping me. My first horse was a 14.2 hh QH who I showed in the large pony hunter division and eventually took eventing. At 18 years old (both me and Chester) we rode in our first three day event at Novice. Neither of us had ever been in a dressage ring or gone cross country and we had a blast! As an adult, I went to college at Morehead State University and received my BS in Equine Science, with a focus on breeding and reproduction. Breeding Welsh has been a dream of mine for a long time and I will forever be thankful to my husband, Jeff, for going along with this passion of mine for horses.

Starlite,
Thanks, Sprocket is a very special fellow to me. Actually that is him (my stallion) in the pictures that I attached. Yes, my stallion is such a gentleman that he also doubles as my lead line pony.
I love dapple grey also and it is a shame that the greys get lighter and lighter each year until they are white. I wish I could bottle his dapples and save them for a rainy day down the road.
I am also a fan of the Arab/Welsh cross. Sprocket has produced two so far, one of which is still here on my farm. Go to my website and look for Zoot Suit Riot. We plan on breaking him to cart this fall because I am dying to have a driving pony to show in 2008.

Hi My name is Cheryl and I live in the UK. I have been around horses all my life and my passions are Arabians and Miniatures, I downsized from 4 Arabs and 7 minis a few years ago and now only have 5 miniatures. I imported an AMHA colt and filly from the USA 3 years ago and I managed to breed myself the UK miniature foal of the year in 2006 (CDM Blaze of Glory). I started a small business 4 years ago making show halters for both Arabians and minis so my time is spent between my horses and my business. I have 2 foals due this year in July and August and I'm hoping to set up a cam before then, both foals are by my AMHA boy Celebrations Lucky Royale, I hope there'll be plenty watchers!! www.californiadreamsminiatures.co.uk

Since I'm back on cam with an expectant mare, I guess I better introduce myself! My name is Merry and it's because I was born on Christmas...not because I'm so happy all the time ;D. Anyway, I had no choice in my name... I'm older than dirt but do purty good for a battered up ole gray haired lady. I've been around horses for almost FIFTY freaking years. Started with the usual hunter/jumper upbringing ...cleared too many fences without the horse...so I quit. Oozed into dressage where I spent many, many years working on all these little intricate details of trying to figure out how you're s'posed to make this 2000 lb warmblood dance around like twinkle toes...verry hard work...made my head hurt so... I quit. I did have the wonderful experience of being a groom for a friend of mine who was on the USET Dressage Team and got to go to many exciting places. When I turned 30 and figured I was getting too old (HAH!!!) and that I better follow my dream, I moved to Lexington, KY. There I worked on a Trakehner breeding farm, a TB breeding farm, worked the Keenland Sales, worked for a large vet hospital, totally burned out and couldn't stand the freezing cold winters so... I quit, and moved to NC. I had a mental relapse and thought I would take up combined training...you know the "make your horse dance, then run it flat out cross country and ask it to jump obstacles that only a suicidal maniac would try". My horse had a nervous breakddown on the cross country so... I quit and started trail riding. Then got too freaking old for that and discovered minis and am in heaven. (Speaking of heaven, I had to take a time out in January of this year and call 911 to haul my fanny to the hospital for an angioplasty. I'm good to go now, but not only do I ask you to help me watch my mares...might want to help me watch ME!) So short story long, I'm where I need to be and where I want to be with the little equines. I hope to apply all the knowledge I've gained from the past with all I'm learning now and hopefully find success in bringing beautiful mini babies into the world that fulfill my every dream of what a little equine should be. NOW, I can have my horse fix, smell their wonderful smells, watch them as they interact in their little herd, and wonder what road these little ones will travel. Little tiny buckets, little tiny blankets, little bitty feed bills, and itty bitty babies...gotta love it.

Hi my name is actually Cindy.......and I live in British Columbia on Vancouver Island in a small community called Qualicum Beach....a resort destination.
I am turning 50 this year........and have 4 grown children....3 boys and on girl......who is addicted to horses.....along with me. We moved to our own farm which we call High Point Stables.....it is 5 acres, we have 8 stalls a riding ring, round pen and 3.5 acres of pasture.
We have six horses, and 2 boarders.
Super Nova...or as she is known around the barn as Phyllis she is a 12 year old clyde/quarter horse cross who was my daughters 3' hunter champion
Dal'Emma is my 5 year old swedish/duch-paint who is being bred to the welsh stallion Wedderlie Mardis Gras.
Denny is my 4 year old PMU gelding.......who I backed a year ago he has about 60 rides but has been off the last 6 months due to some health issues that we now think we have sorted out.
Jess Jokin......better known as Jessie is our barn jokester.....he plays fetch with a big fish buoy.......him and Denny play constantly.
Dalayla is Phyllis's baby from 2005 a holstiener out of Daimler....she is expected to mature to 17 hands.......she was my first born foal........we are lucky to have both mother and baby....the foal was huge and it took us 45 minutes of pulling to get her out.....she was hypoxic when born but had made a full recovery by the 72 hour mark.....mother required about 7 stitches
Dalayla is coming two and stands 15.3 a couple of inches taller than her mother......and is a real sweet heart.......she is a dark bay with about 12 white hairs on her forehead and white spot on her hip the size of a loonie....not sure where this came from she was born with it.
I hope to post pictures as soon as if can figure that part out.
Cindy
