Just got the call from the vet. It isn't good. His temp is up, he's not nursing well and is very stiff. We're going to try IV antibiotics. Cross your fingers and say a prayer.
If the antibiotics don't work we will be putting Lukky down. With almost all the joints involved we don't think excising and injecting them would be a good thing.

I'm so sorry to hear the latest news on Lukky. I'll be praying for him ... and you too - this has got to be a difficult time for all concerned.

Just got back from seeing him. I wish I could report all is getting better. I'm praying and hoping that he will be okay. He looks so bad. His fever is worse and he doesn't want to be up at all.
Good thing, his swelling went down just a lil. Here's to hoping he'll come out of it!

Well went out again this time to make sure we were going to make the right choice and put him down.
When I got out there my mom called and tols me to NOT DO IT! She and Dad think he needs a lil more time and are going to help. When I walked in Lukky got up and got his shot, he then shuffled over with his ear pricked, looking for his nightly grain. I hand fed him two handfuls and he shuffled to mom and nursed. The spark I thought was gone this afternoon is back in his eye, and hopefully so is his fight!
So tomorrow Lukky's right rear joints will be excised and flushed.

BTW I am an adult, but this has been really really hard on me. I've had one bad year of constant stress, luckily my mom and I have rebuilt our relationship and I have her support!

Lukky is doing better, he's up more and the doc said he may not have to flush the joints on the right rear leg. He's favoring his front leg but it seems like almost all of the swelling has gone down on all the others. Here's another picture of him taken today. We're having to up Gingers food because she's losing so much weight so quickly.  |

Wel good news joints didn't have to be flushed today. The white count in the joint fluid was low. Thank god. Though we're worried about his left hind rear.
My youngest is soooooo upset by this. This baby was to be his and he finally took something seriously. Here's to hoping and praying that Lukky continues his upward climb to health.
Thank you to all of your for your prayers, we could still use them, he isn't there yet.
