Good for your mom! I'm keeping all of you in my thoughts. Is there any news about how Lukky and Ginger are doing?

Well Lukky was up and doing better this morning. He is a bit wobbly in the hind right now, but with both back legs affected he's hurting a bit. Ginger POOPED YEAHHHHHH!!! She is happy to finally have feed. Poor girl, she's so stressed by all of this. They sedated her yesterday when they took Lukky to surgery and she was still maniacly pacing.

Isn't it sad that we get so excited to see poop? I'm telling you - I've come to love horse poop. It's my favorite chore as well -picking up the poop - no one has to tell me when I've done a good job and it's mindless work....gotta love it!!! I'm so glad that they're both improving. The herbs should be there tomorrow - I'm anxious to see how he does with them. Hang in there....

Thank you Heather. It means alot. I know amazes me. A friend and I calculated how much manure dust we've eaten in our life time (not on purpose). We figured it was about 100lbs. Enough to plant a couple of decent [planters Of course its always windy here so that doesn't help either.

If you are in a hurry to get some magic potion into him and want something to try before Heather can give you better advice, try making a "soup" (just mix the herbs in some water) and use a turkey baster, same as paste wormer protocol.

Good idea Devotee. I just put them on their food - sweet feed works best. If he turns up his nose at it - you can add some apple juice, or molasses. Sometimes just adding some water to the feed to make the herbs stick will do the trick. Yee ha - I'm so tickled that they arrived. The twins that were born in Washington...the owner stays in touch with me and the little female had navel ill - now she has joint ill -maybe. I'm sending the same herbs to her! Gotta love it when you can go all natural. Just remember, sometimes it takes longer for the herbs to work than a chemical would. But be patient - it's soooooo much better for him. Won't hurt mom either.

Heather you won't believe this but the lil stinker ate them right out of my hand. He had his second dose tonight and licked my hand almost clean. Then He was trying to bite the rest off my hand. He is doing well, and the vet called and said that he's going to tap his joint tomorrow and see how it looks. I'm going to keep him on everything (herbal remedies, colital silver, antibiotics and anit inflamatories) till he is completely clear and safe from harm!

Vet just called and said the Lukky's joint was very tight and looked awesome! Lukky will be going home without the cathetor. He will be getting twice daily IM shots of Maxall. He'll have to be on antibiotics twice a day.
Heather will it hurt him to have missed a dose? My kids had a doctors appointment and I couldn't get down there. For some reason their doctor appointments always last at least 3-4 hours.
