Okay I know what you are thinking ?? We have a friend who has a HUGE sow that is ready to have piglets. Today they came over and borrowed my camera and she is going to try to get it online here by tomorrow. Might take us a few days to get it done though! The last time she had 11 piglets and two died, one died at birth the other was still born. She is heavily bagged in the back but not the front. Pigs are pregnant for 3 months, 3 weeks, and 3 days......I will let you know when it is online! We were there the last time with her and delivered all the piglets. Her name is Tulip and she is around 800lbs. I will try to see if I can find a picture of her somewhere to post! www.foalcam.com/chelsead/camIf you see her in labor and nobody is in there please call us. Remember Tulip is not at our house but we can get there in about 5 min. Best to call Chelsea but she has a young daughter so please don't call unless she is presenting and nobody is there. Chelsea's numbers: (208) 265-1741 Home (208) 610-6512 Cell Dan and Brittany: (208)255-1769 Home (208)597-1805 Cell (our cell is not always on so try house first)

Oh, I LOVE pigs! And they're so smart. I've raised pigs for the freezer. They were spoiled, even had a bowling ball to play with and got a bath every day. There was an apple tree just outside of their pen, they got apples every day when they got ripe. And they are NOT dirty animals, they're only like that if forced to live like that. (Although they like a mud wallow to keep themselves cool, they have very few sweat glands) But they tasted pretty darn good, too! lol

Cam is not up yet.....Chelsea was having some difficulty with all the wires so I am heading over there soon to help her get it all set up. I will post a link as soon as it is up and running!! Her piglets are too raised for food and we brought two of them to finish here to our house and they were so comical!!!!! Our horses were scared to death of them but got used to them pretty quick, that is all of them except our POA gelding.......These two pigs would be sleeping (or appear to be) under the tree. We would go get the pony and we had to walk him past the pen (the pasture gate was next to the pig pen). As soon as the pony would get right beside them they would both jump up barking and run around each other. That poor pony would FREAK out! The other thing whenever they heard the tractor going they would run around in circles barking. One of them was VERY friendly and if you had to fix their hot wire he would leave his food to follow you around. He would also run between your legs, he loved to be petted. But I tell you what I have to agree they are mighty tasty. Just have to keep telling myself that they are food and not pets.......But man as little tiny piglets they are way too cute!!

I once helped a friend load a couple of hogs to go to the slaughterhouse. What a rodeo THAT was! We tried everything, putting a garbage can over their head and backing them in, you name it. One got loose and shot between my legs (now get this...that pig was darn near 300 lbs and didn't fit too well there) I got knocked arse over teakettle! It took another 10 minutes for everyone to quit laughing before we could resume! I finally got the bright idea of putting hay down in the trailer and on the ramp...and they went right in! ; )

Aww i think it will be very exciting to watching a piggy cam. I hope your friend is able to get everything connected. As far as "pigs tasting good"... I'm a vegan and would rather eat bleach than animal products. lol
