from huggers dad butternut is out there running and then stopping for a few seconds, then running. been going on last 20 min. not her normal M.O. so?  maybe??? Udder is fulllll and she is cranky even to me, the dad. |

Well, nonstop runnig. she was just about to go into her shelter and grab somrthing to eat and just turned around so fast. WE hopefully are going to see a foal soon!

Hey there, I have been watching this post and have been watching all of the updates on buttercup hopeing that as each day passes she has a healthy baby. I work at a vets office and have seen alot of stuff. If it were me....I would insist on a vet comeing out there and checking her and most definatly pulling bloodwork on her. I could just be jumping the gun on this one but in my oppion it is worth the money to have the vet out if it means saving the mare and foal. I wish you the best of luck with her and I look forward to updates. Good luck and please know that your Mare Stare family is with you!!  |

That is what we are going to do if she doesnt foal by Friday my mom said. We just havent been pushing him to come out here because the neaeest vets office is like 20-30 miles away. And for him just to come out here would be $80.

Well she cant really stop moving. And if she does stop she just keeps moving her legs and her head all the time

Is she eating, drinking, passing stool normally? Can you get a temp on her? This just doesn't sound normal. I don't know the horse, but it sounds like there's an issue. Could be her way of dealing with all that her body is going through, but it won't hurt to get a heart rate, temp, etc. At least you can advise the vet when you talk to him/her.

Yea she is doing all of that. We dont have a thermomonter(sp) for horses though. And my dad keeps on asking the vet to come out and he wont. And he is the closest vet out here.
