I was just wondering where your family lives? Maybe someone on here lives near you and would be willing to stop by for a visit? I always end up using the people thermometer on the horses and then have to buy new ones for us Just make sure you hold on to it, unless you can figure a way to attach a string to it or you might loose it Good luck.

hey hugger....just to be on the safe side....why dont you edit your post and take out your full address, and if anyone lives near your town they can email you for it....I guess I'm just an over-protective mom!! LOL
Wishing you all the best with Buttercup!!!

Thank You Hugger!!
If I lived any where close, I'd be there real quick-like...but I'm in Kansas, and no expert on pregnant mares. Hope someone that does live close by can help y'all out!!!

Thank you, MaryKansas!! I didn't authorize my daughter to give out our address!! ARGGG I love you, Ash, but that was a big NO NO!! Thank you Mary for looking out for us in that way. I go to bed in the morning when my hubby gets home and my girls are on duty watching Buttercup and they get online and watch marestare horses and I see that they are posting. Which is GREAT, but they really do need to watch what they post.
As far as the vet coming out here, my husband has been in touch with him and he says everything that we have told him seems to be normal early labor behavor. We have been concerned also about having him come out here. Friday morning, if no baby, we are going to call him one more time to request him to come out here, and if not, we will try to find another vet to come out ASAP. It is definitely worth the money to get someone to come out here and check her and let us know what is going on. She has been getting up and down alot since around 1:30 AM (It is now 3:20 AM ~ I am on night duty) She has been walking around alot and eating. She even laid down on her side for like 20 seconds and I thought, Is this it??? But then she rolled and got up. So, I sit here, watching her and praying for her to be safe. It is getting a bit warmer out (29 degrees now LOL) Bless her heart.
Thank you for all keeping tabs on our Buttercup!! God Bless, Tari

You're quite welcome!! I'm a mom of 4 boys and I have to constantly monitor them while on the internet...you just never know who could be lurking! I'm sure Ash learned a valuable lesson, and will never post her complete address again! ;D
I sure hope the vet decides to come out and see Buttercup...I know this must be very stressful on y'all. Praying for a successful outcome for Buttercup and the foal!!

I also have been reading your up dates with GREAT interest. You & your mare are in my thoughts & prayers. Hopefully tomorrow when the Vet comes out, he/she will palpate Buttercup and determine that the foal is in the correct position. ;D
BY the by, you can use an ordinary digital thermometer to take her temp. Just keep hold of the end of it! don't want it to disappear!GOOD LUCK! ;D
