UPDATE: Dr Swor called at 10:20am. Said Fancy had a very rough night. They started her on the Oxyglobin and still have her on oxygen. Said she looks the best she has in 24hrs. The left kidney began bleeding again lastnight. The reproductive team did another ultra sound. The foal is alive and in no distress. They think Fancy was trying to abort lastnight. She is stable this morning. If the kidney continues to bleed, they want to talk about removing it. She isn't a very good surgery candidate at this time though. That's all the news for now. She'll call back later today or sooner if Fancy goes into distress again. --------------------------------
Now we must pray she doesn't abort the foal... I hope the power of prayer than help Fancy and her foal.

Dr Mohr said Fancy seems better today. Said she still doesn't have an appetite but they will be working on that today. Stopped the steroids because her digital pulses picked up and they didn't want her to founder. Red blood cells still being destroyed but not at the shockingly rapid pace as before. She is still on oxygen and they are running dextrose in the IV solution. We discussed the possibility of the foal being oxygen deprived. There is that possibility but hoping Fancy's compensation mechanism took over and provided the foal with everything it needed. Made Sherrie and I feel lots better when she said someone is constantly in there with her and she isn't short of TLC. --------------- She is getting better again!! Whoohoo!!!

Praying hard. I know that nobody would want to go through this, and I am sure that it's not going to be a pretty vet bill, but who cares about the bill when your horses life is in the balance! I am praying for a speedy recovery and a healthy foal!!!
