just saw on the message boear that Fancy foaled a colt born with no pulse or respriation CPR done have pulse and breath now colt may be septic. Fancy very weak bleeding on clotting agents

just after foaling update:

Fancy foaled at 5:45
She had a very weak pulse and they were beginning to initiate CPR. She is very weak. They believe she is bleeding and they're treating her with every clotting agent they have.
Foal is a colt, maybe buckskin or dun, not sure yet.
Was born with no respirations or pulse. They performed CPR. He is now breathing with a pulse.
Dr Swor wants us to head down there in case things go the other way.
Foal maybe septic, not sure if there is any brain damage yet. Running tests.
We will contact Tonja and David if we hear anything so they can update Sherrie and the board.
---------------Newest update:
Just spoke to Gin and fancy is VERY weak she is on IV fluids and wants nothing to do with the baby. The baby is a fighter and he is on a matress in the stall with his momma he is on IV fluids and O2. Gin said that he is a red Dun and beautiful.

The Lord has been so gracious to us with Dancer, I pray that he will do the same for Fancy and her colt.
Please continue to keep us posted.....prayer, hugs and love going to Prarie Hill Paints.

New Update WITH PICS: Fancy was very weak and cold. She was nibbling on some feed. Have fluids running on her again and giving her high doses on clotting agents. Believe the uterine veins are bleeding again. She doesn't have the strength or will to take care of the baby right now. She looks very thin but she's still fighting. The foal is also on fluids and also on oxygen. Big red dun colt. They are both very critical and both in ICU. His bone density tests show his little bones aren't very strong at the time so they are keeping him laying down so there is no stress on them. He had a very strong suckling instint so they gave him donor colostrum from a bottle and he drank it all very fast.   -------  |

There is sad news on Prairie Hill's message board. Fancy died this morning. Her colt is given a 50-50 chance for survival.

Update: Dr Swor called at 8am. Fancy passed away this morning. We are all heartbroken. She was very weak, layed down and silently slipped away. Was so hard to break this to Sherrie as she loved her so much. The little one has had a few seizures. They are doing all they can for him and for now would prefer we didn't come down as he doesn't need anyone to bring any un-needed germs to him. At this point they have given him a 50/50 chance.
